Step into Moldova's rich history and culture on an unforgettable full-day tour to Soroca, the country's legendary fortress town on the banks of the Dniester River.
Excursion to the monument “Lumînarea Recunoştinţei” (the Candle of Recognition) in Soroca. Nice monument that gives a beautiful view of the Nistru River and Soroca town. You’ll have the opportunity to climb around 650 steps.
Next, we depart to visit the Soroca Fortress. Built between 1543–1546, this impressive fortification stands on the banks of the Dniester River and historically served as a key defensive point against foreign invasions. Visitors will explore its architecture, defensive towers, and learn about its strategic importance.

The Candle of Gratitude Monument
Perched high above the Dniester River, the Candle of Gratitude is one of Moldova's most iconic landmarks and a symbol of respect for those who preserved the country's culture, language, and traditions through the centuries. Visitors climb a scenic staircase of more than 600 steps to reach the monument, where they are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Soroca, the Dniester Valley, and the surrounding countryside. The candle-shaped monument also features a small chapel and offers a peaceful setting for reflection, photography, and appreciation of Moldova's rich cultural heritage.
Soroca Fortress
Travelers visiting Soroca Fortress will discover one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in Eastern Europe. Situated on the banks of the Dniester River, the fortress impresses with its perfectly symmetrical circular design, massive stone walls, defensive towers, and centuries-old architecture. During the visit, guests can explore the inner courtyard, climb the fortress walls, and learn about its strategic role in defending the Moldavian Principality against Ottoman and Tatar invasions. The fortress also offers beautiful views of the Dniester River and the surrounding landscape, making it a perfect place for photography and history enthusiasts. Built by Stephen the Great in the late 15th century and later reconstructed in stone by Petru Rareș, Soroca Fortress stands today as one of Moldova's most important historical and cultural landmarks.
