We had a great day on our minibus tour of the highlands. Our driver & guide Doug was excellent, keeping us entertained and well informed along the way. There were plenty of stops along the way for photos & rest breaks. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had an amazing tour with the best driver, Brian. His knowledge, smooth driving, and wonderful personality truly made the day complete. We were lucky enough to meet both big and small hairy coos, enjoy stunning scenery even in the rain, and experience several memorable additional stops along the way. The Jacobite train was steaming across the viaduct right as we arrived — such a perfect moment. This tour is full of hidden gems, and every stop felt thoughtfully chosen. Don’t miss out!

It's been some time since we came back from the Glenfinnan, Loch Shiel and Glencoe tour with Discover Scotland Tours, and honestly, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland. The landscapes throughout the day were absolutely stunning. Glencoe in particular feels ancient, majestic and almost otherworldly. Loch Shiel and the Glenfinnan Viaduct were beautiful to see in person and made for a fantastic day exploring the Highlands. But what truly made this experience unforgettable was our guide, Kyle. Kyle is, without exaggeration, the best tour guide we have ever had. From the very beginning, his warmth, enthusiasm and passion for Scotland were absolutely infectious. He seemed to know a story about every mountain, every loch, every village, every rock, and somehow managed to weave together history, folklore, nature, humour and music into one seamless experience. The amount of knowledge he shared throughout the day was honestly staggering. My parents don't speak a word of English, which meant I spent much of the tour desperately trying to translate Kyle's explanations for them. The problem? Kyle shared so many fascinating stories, facts and anecdotes that translating everything was simply impossible! Yet despite the language barrier, my parents absolutely adored him. His energy, kindness and genuine effort to connect with everyone in the group transcended language completely. They may not have understood every word, but they understood his passion, and they were excited every single minute of the trip. Kyle is also clearly a connoisseur of Scottish music. The journeys between stops never felt long thanks to his carefully curated soundtrack, which introduced us to both traditional and modern Scottish artists. He even sparked a newfound appreciation for Scottish literature in me. I have, somewhat alarmingly, become mildly obsessed with William McGonagall's poetry since returning home. Truly the best of the worst. What impressed us most was how effortlessly Kyle kept the group's energy high all day long. Whether sharing stories, pointing out wildlife, explaining the landscape, or simply making us laugh, he created an atmosphere that felt warm, personal and incredibly special. To wrap up the day, we drove back to Edinburgh with lights flashing inside the van, music blasting, and the whole group (or maybe just Kyle and myself, memories are admittedly a little blurry) singing along to The Proclaimers' I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles), otherwise known as Scotland's official national anthem. A completely surreal, joyful and perfect way to end the day. Kyle, you're an absolute legend. Thank you for giving us memories that will stay with us for a very long time. If you're considering this tour, don't hesitate for a second.

Fantastic tour! We got to see the train come through at the viaduct as well as streams and sheep. Also fed highland cows and most-importantly saw the magical and beautiful highlands of Glencoe. Plenty of stops to enjoy, not rushed. Our guide, Ron, was impressive with his knowledge of Scottish history. You will learn so much. He was a terrific driver and played Scottish music down low for a comfortable and atmospheric experience. Great personality. Don’t miss out on this exploration and iconic tour! Be ready for a long day, but it’s totally worth it. You will also get to see more of Edinburgh as you ride out of the area to begin the tour!

This tour was one of the highlights of my trip to Scotland! You got to see the beautiful highlands and the guide told us many stories of Scotlands history. It was a smaller group tour so you weren’t stuck on a big coach bus feeling crowded at all the stops. The weather was a little gloomy but it was still one of the best days. I’ll definitely be looking into some of their other tour options the next time I’m in Scotland!

You will experience every kind of weather you can imagine. Kyle our driver was very knowledgeable of the area and very detailed with his responses to questions asked. Specifically, when we questioned the markings and coloring on the sheep. Many sites were a literal washout due to rain. On our way back we had the time to stop and feed the Highland Coo which everyone enjoyed.

I booked this tour expecting beautiful scenery and came home a little bit in love with Scotland. From charming Callander to the mirror-still Lochan na h-Achlaise on wild Rannoch Moor, every stop took our breath away. Then dramatic Glencoe, where the story of the massacre made the silence of those mountains feel alive, and the moment everyone waits for: the steam train curving across the 21 arches of the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the real Hogwarts Express, with Loch Shiel shimmering below. We ended with lovely Pitlochry and a final stop at Bankfoot, where we finally met the famous Highland cows. But what truly made the day was our guide, Kyle. Funny, warm, knowledgeable and genuinely empathetic, he turned facts into stories and history into something you actually feel. Even his playlist was beautifully curated — from traditional Scottish folklore to contemporary Scottish artists, the perfect soundtrack to every stretch of road. By the end it felt less like a tour and more like exploring the Highlands with a Scottish mate who happens to know everything. I arrived knowing almost nothing about Scotland and left fascinated by its landscapes, clans, music and culture. We did this as a family and can’t recommend it enough for other families: Harry Potter magic for the kids, history and scenery for the grown-ups, and a small, cosy minibus where nobody was bored for a second. If you’re thinking about it — book it. You’ll come back with a heart full of Scotland. Tìoraidh an-dràsta, Kyle — till the next time! 🏴

This trip was absolutely worth it! Kyle, our driver and tour guide, made the entire journey so enjoyable with his humor, stories, and endless trivia. We learned so much not only about Glenfinnan itself, but also about the different areas we passed along the way, which made the long drive feel surprisingly short and engaging. What I also appreciated was how well the trip was planned. The operator arranged several stops throughout the journey so everyone could stretch, use the toilet, grab a coffee, or simply relax and enjoy the scenery. It made the whole experience very comfortable and stress-free. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Highlands!
