I was extremely lucky to share this tour with just another couple from Singapore last Wednesday, 7 May, and the tour ran almost like a private tour with four winery tastings- Gibbston Valley, Akroa, Stoker Room and Mt Rosa! Diana was our guide and driver for the tour. She made arrangements with the wineries based on our tasting palettes. Two of us loved sweet but not dry wines. At Gibbston wineries, we got to taste an additional Late Harvest Riesling (2021), filled with notes of apricot and honey which we liked so much that we each bought a bottle! The very first highlight of the tour was a rich, delectable lunch of barrel oak smoked venison, duck, salmon, and chicken (I got my dietary preferences sorted, whereas the other couple tasted pork and beef), paired with wine tastings. As we concluded our lunch at the Stoker Room, Diana walked us over next door to Misha's vineyard, where the owners hosted us for a quick sample of their Limelight Riesling (2023), and The Cadenza Late Harvest Gewúrztstramer (2025). Both wines were lovely. Needless to say I favoured the latter for its sweetness and hints of cantaloupe. I ordered a bottle online a day after touching down back in Singapore. Diana also made sufficient time provisions for us to visit Arrowtown. The colours of Arrowtown were simply stunning. Walking down the streets of Arrowtown felt like a page out of a romance movie. Needless to say, having a sweet tooth, the Remarkables Sweet Shop filled my cravings of fudge and chocolates. Definitely don't miss this tour when you are in Queenstown.

From the driver Graeme, to the venues experienced, this was a fun packed day at some great sites in and around the Gibbston Valley, Central Otago area. The day was well paced and some value ad historical backgrounds from Graeme enhanced the day.

From pick up to drop off the day went perfectly. Martin our guide was brilliant. We had a good crew (all strangers till about 15 minutes in). Combination of scenery, wines, food and personalities made it one to remember.

A fantastic experience. Started the day at 930am and headed to the wine cave at Gibbston Valley for a tour in the wine Cave. This was followed by wine tasting in 3 more wine cellars including Akarua which has superb Pinot noir abd Pinot Gris. The gourmet lunch was exceptional and worth the extra money for the gourmet food tour. Taimi the tour guide was excellent, sharing her experience with us throughout the tour. By the end of the tour we tasted about 20 different wines , all very good quality. Thanks Taimi.
