What To Expect
Combine your trip to the Great Salt Lake with what I consider the only way to visit it by experiencing Antelope Island. This little known island is teaming with wildlife, and you can't get the quiet of wilderness by simply visiting it near I-80. We will spot for the wild herd of 600 American Bison roaming the island. Amongst the Bison we'll watch for coyote, bobcat, antelope, porcupine, big-horn sheep, mule deer and if the season is right up to 200,000 migratory birds. You can truly experience Nature in its finest form on this beautiful island. After wildlife spotting, we'll hike to Buffalo Point on the Island to watch the sunset and take in the breathtaking views. *Bug Season (April-June) We have bug spray for the mosquitos, and hats/bug nets for the biting gnats. Midges do not bite. The Hike is .9 miles round trip. It has a couple steep parts on dirt, but it's very well traveled. I would designate this as a moderate hiking difficulty, which is less than a mile. The Tour Vehicle is a High Roof 12 Passenger Mercedes Sprinter Passenger Van marked with Sunnyside Expeditions. It was great large windows in the back for Wildlife viewing. There is bathroom availability

5.00Sara was a great guide and gave us lots of time with the animals. The hike at the end and sunset was phenomenal but a caution on the hike: it was a little more rugged and steep than described but there's a good place to stop midway to watch so it's all good. Definitely a fun experience!

5.00I was debating whether or not I should try to sneak this trip in while at a convention in Salt Lake City. I am certainly glad I did because it was definitely the highlight of the trip. Just a short ride from downtown Salt Lake City and you’re on antelope Island to enjoy the beautiful views of nature as well as the beautiful sunset. I definitely recommend the sunset trip that leaves late afternoon each day.

5.00It is a 4+ hour experience. Eat early dinner or late lunch unless you're ok eating after 9pm. Your guide will notify you before the tour how to dress. Listen to his advice. Otherwise, you'll have a great time. Garth was funny, engaging and extremely knowledgeable about the island the animals that inhabit it. Kept us at a safe distance at all times while allowing us to take great pics. Highly recommend the tour and Garth!!

5.00Blake was a lot of fun. My only suggestion would be a rotation of seats 1/2 way through. I was in the back left corner the whole trip and missed some sights.

5.00Fun tour, beautiful sunset with bison watching. Bugs were savages but was given bug spray and head net to help keep them off. Worth it. Got great pictures!

5.00A stellar experience, cannot recommend this enough. During our trip we saw bison, antelope, burrowing owls and different species of birds. We capped the evening off with the most beautiful sunset view I’ve ever seen. Our tour guides Blake and Ben were a fountain of knowledge, incredibly warm and friendly, and absolutely stellar at spotting different animals and stopping for us to get a view and take photos. I felt at ease with them and loved some of the spontaneous adventures we got up to as well. Thanks so much for this incredible experience!
