What makes this experience stand out is that nothing here is staged, polished, or dressed up for show. Guests step straight into the real working rhythm of Crete — the groves where families still tend their trees by hand, the micro-wineries where winemakers argue lovingly over harvest dates, the village kitchens where recipes are older than the walls themselves. You’re not shuffled through big factories or tourist traps; you’re welcomed into places that normally open their doors only to neighbours and friends.
And because every stop is small-scale and family-run, the day unfolds with the calm pace of old Crete. You taste products made in tiny batches, walk through landscapes shaped by tradition, and share a meal that feels more like Sunday lunch than a tour inclusion. It’s authentic, personal, and grounded in the way things have always been done — a reminder that the island’s true flavour comes from its people, not its brochures.

Travelers stepping into this experience spend their day wandering through the old heartbeat of Crete — the land, the vines, the olive trees that kept our forefathers standing upright. The journey begins with a quiet drive through valleys wrapped in silver-green groves while stories of harvests, storms, and stubborn Cretan grit fill the road. At the olive farm, they stroll among ancient trunks, meet the people who still honour the tree, and taste oils so pure they remind you why simplicity lasts longer than fashion. Then comes the winery and raki distillery, where barrels breathe slowly in the cool light and local varieties speak of rocky soil and patient hands. Guests taste, learn, and finally sit down in a village taverna for a humble Cretan feast — slow-cooked dishes, house wine, and the kind of hospitality you don’t beg for; you just receive. By the time they head back, they’ve walked, sipped, and eaten their way through the island’s traditions, leaving with a sense of Crete that doesn’t wash off easily.

We had a wonderful day on this tour. The soap makers were so informative and passionate about their craft. The shop is beautiful with very affordable quality products. The olive tasting and tour was very informative and the olive oil delicious The vineyard and wine tasting was just perfect. It was so good to meet the man and his family who make the wine with such dedication. They were a delight to meet. Finally lunch in a small village was a feast and was accompanied by more wine ! It was a lovely opportunity to get to meet our fellow travellers. Finally our driver was both well informed and very funny, All round great value

It was a great day out. 2 x wine tastings then onto a small restaurant for lunch. We had a great time and it was worth the price I paid.
