Abandoned Village of Kayakoy

Kayakoy is a ghost village with a rich history. Once known as Levissi, it was a thriving Greek settlement until the population exchange between Greece and Turkey in 1923. The village was subsequently abandoned, leaving behind over 500 stone houses, two historic churches, and several chapels scattered across the hillside. The silent, weathered structures tell stories of a vibrant community that once flourished here. Today, Kayakoy stands as an open-air museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the past amidst breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and distant sea. The village is also a popular stop along the Lycian Way, attracting history enthusiasts, photographers, and travelers seeking a peaceful retreat. Butterfly Valley

Butterfly Valley (Faralya Village) enclosed by steep cliffs and accessible only by boat (going down on foot to the valley is prohibited), is a haven of tranquility. The valley is named for the hundreds of butterfly species that inhabit the area, particularly the colorful Jersey Tiger butterfly. Its pristine beach, turquoise waters, and lush greenery make it a favorite spot for nature lovers, campers, and adventurers. Faralya, perched above the valley, offering panoramic views. Kabak Koyu

Kabak Bay is a secluded paradise with turquoise waters, a peaceful beach, and lush pine forests. Accessible by a scenic hike or drive, it’s perfect for nature retreats.

After Alinca, route passes by on top of Kalabantia, an ancient Lycian harbour, is a hidden gem perched on a rocky cliff overlooking the turquoise Mediterranean Sea. Accessible only by boat or hiking, it features remnants of ancient stone structures and tombs. Its secluded location offers tranquility and stunning panoramic coastal views.

Sidyma Ancient City

Sidyma, an ancient Lycian city, offering a captivating blend of history and rural charm. Known for its well-preserved tombs, sarcophagi, and temple ruins, Sidyma reflects Lycian and Roman architectural styles. Unlike more touristy sites, it remains largely untouched, nestled within a traditional Turkish village. Visitors can wander among ancient remnants intertwined with olive groves and stone houses, creating a serene atmosphere. Sidyma is perfect for history enthusiasts seeking an off-beaten-path experience.

Letoon

Letoon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the religious center of ancient Lycia, dedicated to the goddess Leto and her children, Apollo and Artemis. The site features three well-preserved temples, an ancient theater, and inscriptions in Lycian, Greek, and Aramaic. Surrounded by tranquil marshlands, Letoon holds great historical and cultural significance. Visitors can explore the ruins while imagining the rituals and ceremonies once held in this sacred sanctuary of Lycian civilization.

Xanthos Antik Kenti

Xanthos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the capital of ancient Lycia and a center of culture and politics. Known for its grand tombs, the Harpy Monument, and the Nereid Monument, it showcases Lycian and Hellenistic architectural styles. The site reflects the resilience of the Lycians, who famously chose mass self-sacrifice over surrender. Patara Ruins

Patara, an ancient Lycian city, is renowned for its historical and cultural significance. Known as the birthplace of Saint Nicholas and an important harbour city, Patara features a well-preserved theatre, parliament building, and Roman triumphal arch. Its expansive sandy beach, one of Turkey’s longest, adds to its charm. As the former capital of the Lycian League, Patara offers visitors a unique blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty in a serene setting.

Bezirgan

Bezirgan Village, located in the hills above Kalkan, is a charming rural settlement known for its traditional way of life and stunning natural surroundings. Nestled in a fertile valley, the village has been a key agricultural hub for centuries. Its cedarwood granaries, called "ambarlar" in Turkish, are iconic structures reflecting the area’s heritage.

Kaputas Beach

Passing by on top of Kaputas Canyon, located between Kas and Kalkan, is a striking natural wonder carved by centuries of erosion. Famous for its turquoise waters and dramatic cliffs, the canyon opens into the stunning Kaputas Beach, accessible by a steep staircase. You are not able to view the canyon and the beach but locality has stunning panoramic views
