Itinerary:
1. Auckland - Your tour starts in New Zealand’s largest city. As we drive out of the city your guide will not only set the scene for your adventure today but also point out and guide you past some of the city’s top highlights.
2. Waikato - Exiting Auckland we travel south through the stunning Waikato countryside, the most extensive farming area in the world, encountering beautiful scenery, mighty rivers, great photo opportunities, impressive mountains and several farm animals along the way.
3. Hobbiton Movie Set - Arriving at ‘Hobbiton’ you will board one of the big green Hobbiton buses for a two & a half hour fully guided tour of this amazing 12 acre movie set with a professional Hobbiton guide to ensure you get the most out of your visit. During your tour step into the lush pastures of the Shire, visit 44 hobbit holes, see amazing gardens, hear the secrets and stories about the making of the movies and enjoy a cold complimentary beverage at the famous Hobbiton pub ‘The Green Dragon Inn’.
4. Auckland - Sadly we must start to head north again but your day is not over with a fully guided return trip to Auckland including surprise stops. Depending on weather and timing our guides love doing other surprise stops. Maybe a scenic stop near a lake or the chance to try New Zealand ice creams, we love introducing you to local wildlife and animals. You will have to jump on the tour to see where you go!

5.00It's an unforgettable experience. The tour agency (cheekykiwi) that I booked under Viator facilitated out tour smoothly from pick up to drop off. Micheal the driver was very welcoming and entertaining. The tour in the Hobbiton Movie set is well faciltated by the tour guide Nathaniel. The place is spectacular and I've got to experienced being in Shire and see the lives of the Hobbits from Books.

The scenery is stunning and the guides are fun and knowledgeable. I highly recommend for anyone wanting a Hobbiton day trip from Auckland.

5.00A great small group trip to see Hobbiton! Our driver, Simon, was very friendly and informative throughout our drive and made lots of great recommendations for things to do the rest of our trip. Snacks and water were provided in the van, and extra stops were made as time allowed for coffee and ice cream. Would recommend!

5.00We had an awesome day! It started off with us being picked-up at out hotel when we had another meeting-point! Then we had a lovely tour-guide (Jeoff) whom made our day even better. Then we arrived at hobbitton with few expectations and it blew our minds! So much information and such a lovely place! Could not recommend it enough!

5.00Tour was well organised, van was comfy, and pickup/dropoff sites are convenient! Thank you Simon and Cheeky Kiwi for arranging this unforgettable trip. Note: We didn't realise how bad Auckland traffic was during weekdays, thanks to our tour guide Simon for making it a bit bearable - informing us early on on what to expect and providing an ice cream stopover before heading to the traffic zone on on our way back to CBD.

5.00Highly recommend the day trip to Hobbiton. Cheeky Travel managed all the logistics very well. The actual tour of Hobbiton is in the hands of the operator and its guides - time management, sequence and explanations are incredibly organized supported with a wealth of information about the filming that took place there. Expect roughly 3 hours on the road each way, and 3 hours at Hobbiton.
