Behind the wheel of your rental car, you’ll be captivated by the rugged, icy landscape until you reach your first must-see stop: Seljalandsfoss. This powerful waterfall drops 200 feet into a basin surrounded by ice formations. Even cooler—you can walk behind the waterfall’s curtain of water! Just be careful—those rocks can get slippery!

Skogafoss

How could it get any more beautiful? And yet—here comes Skógafoss. Even more breathtaking, this mighty cascade thunders between ice and snow like a scene straight out of a movie. No wonder it’s a favorite filming location!

Follow the path across a stark black sand desert to reach the haunting remains of a DC-3 plane wreck. Set against Iceland’s dramatic landscape, it’s one of the most iconic and surreal photo spots in the country.

Gullfoss Falls
