This guided sightseeing tour takes you through 45 kilometers of the most spectacular scenery in the Canadian Rockies. The Maligne Valley in Jasper National Park is home to abundant wildlife, diverse flora, and unique geological features. Travelling through rich wildlife habitat, your guide shares the history, ecology, and natural wonders of the area. Although the waterfalls are closed due to the 2024 wildfire, we’ll stop at Maligne Canyon Overlook, where your guide explains the fire’s ecological effects and the landscape’s natural recovery. Continuing deeper into Maligne Valley, we stop at Medicine Lake, where dramatic limestone cliffs rise above the shoreline. During a short walk, you’ll learn about the lake’s geology and have excellent photo opportunities. From Medicine Lake, we travel through sub-alpine forests, prime habitat for moose, bears, and other wildlife. Sightings are common but not guaranteed. At world-famous Maligne Lake, enjoy a guided 2–3 km lakeshore hike, taking in glacial-blue waters, mountain vistas, and forested surroundings. After the hike, enjoy a packed lunch you bring or purchase from the Maligne Lakehouse Café (additional cost) before returning to Jasper.

Outstanding! Ross was very knowledgeable and willing to share on everything. He was especially good on the biology of the wildlife we saw and the geology of the area.

Our guide Logan was extremely knowlegable on all subjects relating to animals and nature. As a result he made the tour very interesting. He could spot an animal from a long distance. Extremely friendly.

Our guide and driver Bella was knowledgeable and humorous with regards to wildlife sightseeing. The only thing that was weird was we were under the impression when we got to Maligne lake we'd do a boat tour AND a hike but on arrival it was an "either, or" situation and we ended up consigned to just the hike. We didn't see any bear or moose but we did see bald eagles, marmots, and plenty of elk.

I attended the tour with my husband in June 2026 and we were very much satisfied! Our guide, Owen, has been very precise, kind and funny. Owen is very much prepared and explained to us many curiosities and information about the territory, the wildlife and the nature around Canada. We had the chance to see many elks and a bear with her coy! We highly recommend this tour and Owen as a guide!!

Tour was exceptional. Murand was a great tour guide taking us to all the wildlife hotspots with good narration. Told us about the 2024 Jasper fires and showed us the devastating effects. We had a clear day and Maligne Lake was beautiful. Captain Abby and host Alex M did a great job, commentary was very informative. Well worth it.

It is really a shame to take such a guided tour to do an easy and marked route along the lake, frequented by the majority of the tourists present.
