We were hoping the tour would be one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst experience of our stay. On the day of the tour, it was pouring rain and foggy, we couldn’t see anything. We begged to reschedule (we were staying in the area for 2 days), but the company refused without any explanation, even though their website showed plenty of availability. So we had to do the tour, despite the guide told us we would only stay near the shore because it was too risky otherwise. The gear they provided was not waterproof at all and I ended up completely soaked and freezing. To make things worse, they gave me two right-foot shoes, and the “hot chocolate” promised in their advertising was never offered. I got so cold that I became sick the next day, which ruined the rest of my trip. The final insult was the customer service. We called 2h before the tour to report the situation and ask for help, but nobody assisted us. Their written response came only four days later, when of course we had already left. Their offer to reschedule at that point was meaningless and shows how little they value their clients’ time, money, and well-being. This is not the kind of service one expects at such a price (130€). My advice: avoid this company, or book only last minute when you are 100% sure the weather is good.

The kayaking is great. They kit you out fully, felt really safe but also a proper adventure. Not cheap, but nothing in Iceland is and it was really worth it. The glacier hike was not so good. You are bussed to the a starting point and then walk twenty minutes to the glacier, you then spend 10minutes putting on crampons before having a little wander on the glacier. You spend more time traveling to the glacier than you do on it and you don’t need the crampons or the ice axe or the harness or the hard hat. It is a lot of health and safety and very little adventure. Also DO NOT go on the tour with an American kid called Bradley, he will whine the entire time. He is about 10 but cried Mommmmmmmaaa for a good 20minutes because he wanted something. He refused to specify what the thing was. His dad will try to discipline him but the mum will then tell the dad off for doing so. Bradley will be really rude to his dad, telling him that he will not be able to put the crampons on because he is useless. The dad will tolerate this and the mum will be silent. In conclusion- do the kayaking, check in advance for brats called Bradley and find a better adventure for the glacier.
