Calling all nature lovers and art aficionados, the Joy Ride E-Bike Tour combines the natural beauty of spruce forests meeting the Atlantic Ocean’s rocky coastline with the art inspired by it. Our first stop will be Villard Studios where Kim and Philippe Villard's woodblock prints brought the beauty of the Boothbay Peninsula into the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), NY. We’ll ride through quaint neighborhoods along the Linekin Bay coastline, along an old Indian trail skirting a hidden pond, and enjoy stunning views of Boothbay Harbor’s working waterfront. A feast for all five senses!

Will this be your first time riding an e-bike?
While no experience riding an electric bike is necessary, guests must be able to confidently ride a standard bike. If it has been a while since you’ve been on a bike, we highly recommend you practice, even just once, before your tour.
We'll visit Villard Studios, the last working studio of the 1901 Commonwealth Art Colony, for a studio tour and art demo by the artists, Kim and Philippe Villard.

We really enjoyed our biking with Lisa and the team. The bikes were clean and new and worked perfectly. Learning them was a breeze and throughout the ride their team protected us as we went through stop signs and made turns along the route. Everyone felt very safe and had a fantastic time.

My husband and I took an e-bike tour. We had a great time. Roger, Lisa and Steve gave great instructions and made sure our bikes and helmets were properly fit for us, safety first! This took us out of our comfort zone, but was so worth it.

I enjoyed the ride very much. I felt very safe and well taken care of. The area we biked through was beautiful. My husband thought it would have been helpful to have headsets so that our leader could talk directly to us as we rode rather than just at designated stopping points.

The business owners were very friendly and helpful and encouraging about learning to use the E bikes. During the ride they taught us about the sites that they were showing us and provided some pictures as well. She really seemed to understand the history of the area and was enthusiastic about sharing it with us. Everything was right on time.

The joy ride e-bike tour of Boothbay Harbor was fantastic. The tour guides enhanced our visit by taking us to the Villardstudios to experience revived woodblock art. You can’t find more beautiful scenery than on the east side of the Bay. The hosts were very careful to ensure our safety on the bikes and we rode through local neighborhoods being regaled with some ghost stories and some history like JFK’s visit. Highly recommend.
