Karate was born in Okinawa — but here in Kagoshima, the Renshinkan school of karate was founded and celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. — Meet Your Sensei — Your instructor, Hirokazu Inada, is a national karate champion who won the All-Japan tournament in 6th grade — the first ever from his dojo branch in Kagoshima. This is not a tourist show. This is karate taught by a champion, in an authentic traditional dojo. — What to Expect (about 60 minutes) — 1. Welcome to the Dojo (5 min) Step into an authentic space where karate is lived, not performed. Learn the meaning of "rei" — the soul of karate. 2. Change into Karate Uniform / Dogi (5 min) Feel how different you stand the moment you tie the obi (belt). 3. Kihon — The Basics (15 min) Learn the foundational stances and strikes of Renshinkan karate. 4. Try a Simple Kata (15 min) Move like a samurai. Photos and video welcome. 5.
