K'GARI 2-DAY TOUR - From 1st June 2021, this new tour represents the BEST VALUE experience on Fraser Island in 2021! Focused on increased guest comfort, tours include small group experiences (maximum 30 guests) and upgraded accommodation to Standard Hotel Rooms at K'gari Beach Resort. PLUS uncover hidden gems such as Hammertone Sandblow, Lake Wabby and the Champagne Pools.

Audio guides and scripts are available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Chinese via the K'gari Explorer Tours App.
Your accommodation will require a credit card pre-authorisation of AU$100 per day plus AU$200 refundable bond to a maximum of AU$500. In the event that no credit card is available, full payment and a bond deposit of AU$100 per day to a maximum of AU$500 is required.
Recommended for guests to bring their own front-facing infant seats. Limited child seats are available at an additional charge on request.
Please note we do not carry children under the age of 1 and no refund will be given.
Please note that Queensland law requires all guests travelling on our coaches to wear seat belts at all times, failure to do so could result in a Queensland Government fine.
This tour has separate departure locations depending on whether you are staying in Hervey Bay or Rainbow Beach. Please make sure you book the correct departure location. If you are staying in Hervey Bay, select pick up from Buccaneer Drive. If you are staying in Rainbow Beach, select pick up from Rainbow Beach Road.
The commencement of hotel pickups is approximately 2 hours prior to the departure time of the tour, you must make telephone contact with the local service provider to book the pickup and verify the exactness of your pickup time, this must be done at least 48hrs prior to the departure.

Swim in the emerald-green window lake and explore the only example of a barrage lake found of Fraser Island, after your trek across the shifting sands of the Hammerstone Sandblow.
Central Station Rainforest
Check-out the interp displays and discover a former logging station that was once the hub of a bustling timber industry. Walk the boardwalk paths alongside Wangoolba Creek.
Lake McKenzie
Enjoy a revitalising swim in the fresh, crystal blue water and relax on the sandy white beaches of this picture perfect perched dune lake.

Tour the sandy highway – the ‘spine of Fraser Island’, running from Hook Point to Great Sandy Cape. During this journey, take an extra opportunity to join the Air Fraser team for a scenic flight over the island.

Relax on the sandy banks, wade through the invigorating shallow waters or drift downstream – the fastest flowing creek on the island is sure to revitalise your mind, body and soul.
Maheno Ship Wreck
Learn the intriguing history of this once proud passenger liner that was washed ashore in 1935 during an out-of-season cyclone. While you’re at it, take the chance to stretch your legs and take a holiday snap with this rusting wreck.
K'gari (Fraser Island)
The Pinnacles Coloured Sands - one of Fraser’s more magical locations, you will hear the Dreamtime story of how these rainbow coloured cliffs came to be.

Cruise past the most easterly point of the island, which is home to marine life such as turtles and rays, often spotted in the waters around the base of this rocky headland

5.00Great had a great time. Only 17 of us on the bus. Saw all the sights. Enjoyed all the sights, Enjoyed the food. Deans commentary was engaging, he was happy to answer anyone's questions. Husband really enjoyed it as well. Only real bummer was dragging our suitcases up the muddy, wet unkempt stairs at the K'gari and I felt that we could have spent less time at central station and a teeny bit longer at Lake McKenzie but honestly the experience was a positive one and I would do it again. They even sent my sunglasses back on the ferry! All in all a helpful and friendly team. Special shout out to the young Northern English lad driving the train being extra helpful because we are from regional Australia and didn't have a clue what we were doing and he was very reassuring in delivering the facts of what was happening (worrying about bags and where to locate ourselves). Fantastic, safest and most convenient way to see K'gari when you own a Suzuki Swift. Brilliant! Thank you for the experience ❤️👍🌿🌊

5.00We had a great time on this tour! The pick up from rainbow beach was seamless and our first guide John was funny and knowledgeable. After a very short ferry ride (10 mins) we were on Kgari and driving down the beach. We left the one day tour and joined the 2 day tour at lake Mackenzie. Our next guide Dean was great - he clearly knew what he was talking about, was enthusiastic and entertaining. The private room in the hotel was lovely. The whole tour was absolutely fantastic - top 3 experiences since we’ve been travelling through Aus for the last 3 months. It was well organised, didn’t feel rushed and the food was tasty and there was plenty of it. Would recommend to anyone! Thanks again John and Dean for great commentary and charisma

5.00We had an awesome trip! We fell in love with K’gari and Dean was such an amazing and fun guide! The food from the restaurant in the evening was really bad though, but it didn’t ruin our the experience! We’ll definitely come back!

5.00Taylah was excellent throughout the tour… very interactive with us, knowledgeable, great driver.. we were all very impressed! Fun to be and couldn’t rate her highly enough. The 2 day tour was great as we did enough during the day and had to time to relax as well.. the plane tour was a big success! How brilliant to take off and land on a beach! Would definitely recommend anyone books with K’gari Explorer Tours… not big groups and we were very lucky as only 13 of us and we all had a great time… thank you and Taylah very much for a brilliant trip!
