What To Expect
Ichan-Qala is the inner, walled city of Khiva in Uzbekistan. It is one of the best-preserved examples of a Central Asian medieval city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Islam Khodja Complex
The Ismlo Khodja Mausoleum is a historic structure located in the city of Ichan-Qala in Khiva, Uzbekistan. 5.00We stayed in Khiva in late September 2023, as part of an 11-day trip to Uzbekistan. The city was a pleasant surprise for all of us. We can say that it was the most beautiful thing we saw on the tour. The old city, located inside an oasis, is a UNESCO heritage site: it is a city made of mud and bricks, its palaces and minarets from 1500/600/700 and its historic alleys are a gift for the eyes for those traveling to Uzbekistan. The beautiful minarets are tiled with colored majolica, often a blue that contrasts with the cobalt sky. This alone is worth the whole trip.

3.00We took the city tour with a local guide . Just average all the Madrasas inside the city walls. Food was average in the Terrace restaurant over priced. You can skip Khiva - go to Samarkand instead
