You MUST wear socks at the venue of the performance.
Photography and video recording are allowed only during the performance and the photo session. If you wish to upload any photos on social media, please obtain direct permission from the Maiko beforehand.
As this is a walking tour, we recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes.
No wet cloth and socks are allowed at the venue on rainy days (Please use an umbrella during the walk).
Services not listed (for example: Hotel pickup and drop-off, Transportation to/from the meeting spot, Extra food and drink, Other personal expenses) are not included in the tour.
Refundable for cancellations due to organizers' reasons; no refunds for incidental hotel or bullet train costs.

The Maiko performance will held on at exclusive private house’s 2nd floor, we can only access there with stairs.

Tatsumi Daimyojin Shrine
Tatsumi Daimyojin is a Shinto shrine in Kyoto, dedicated to a deity of protection, good fortune, and safety, especially for travelers and warriors. It was founded during the Heian period (794-1185) and is located in the Tatsumi area. Historically, it has been linked to the imperial family and samurai. The shrine features typical Shinto architecture and is known for its scenic beauty, particularly during cherry blossom season.

5.00We spent a delightful afternoon with Ken, our guide, and his assistant ?Irin. Ken was friendly, courteous and extremely informative. We met a Meiko (in her 5th year of training to be a Geiko) who chatted to us and performed two exquisite dances. Fantastic!

5.00Our guide Machiko made Gion come to life as we toured the different districts. The information we got on the tour prepared us for our time in the tea house. The talk from the tea house owner and the Maiko were really interesting and something most people will never get to experience. The performance actually brought tears to my eyes, it was so beautiful. The only thing I might suggest is that as nice as the sweets were, the American group behind us felt the need to crinkle their sweet wrappers through the presentation which was very distracting and disrespectful. I would have been happy with just the water. Thank you so much to the Maiko and her beautiful performance, the tea house owner for allowing us to have this opportunity and to the lovely Machiko for sharing her knowledge with us ❤️

It was split perfectly: half the time walking through the city learning all about the history of the Geisha's through the different streets and buildings and half meeting a Geisha and hearing of her experience. We learned so much about the culture and history. I highly recommend!

5.00Our tour guide, Uko, was fantastic. We got to see the most beautiful parts of the Gion district we would not have explored on our own, and learned some history at the same time. I was really impressed by Uko's ability to interpret the flower language into English

5.00Yuko was a fabulous guide. She told us the history of the Giesha District and answered all of our questions. She was very easy to understand and very knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend this tour.
