Discover the magical wonderland of Lake Myvatn and Godafoss Waterfall with an experienced local tour guide. We set off from Husavik Port stopping at the stunning Godafoss waterfall and then onto the famous Lake Myvatn area. in Lake Myvatn area we visit the Dimmuborgir Lava formations and the Námafjall area where you can view the bubbling Hverir Mud pools and Natural steam vents or fumaroles. We also stop at Myvatn Nature Baths where you can enjoy the baths (time permitting) and cafe (Please note the entrance fee to the Nature Baths is NOT included). Passengers can also opt to skip the Nature bath and visit Grjotagja cave and rift instead. This great value tour includes a small group tour with an experienced local tour guide and transport. We offer free pick up and drop off to Husavik Port.

We visit the stunning Godafoss waterfall, the 'Waterfall of the Gods' on our way from Akureyri to Lake Myvatn
Lake Myvatn
We visit the main sites in Lake Myvatn including Námaskarð where you can see the bubbling Hverir mud pools and natural steam vents (fumaroles), the Dimmuborgir Lava formations and the Myvatn Nature Baths (please note the entrance fee to the Nature Baths is not included). For those who do not want to use the Nature Baths we can take you to Grotcaja cave and rift while others use the Nature Baths.

5.00Interesting variety of sights on this trip - amazing waterfalls, huge lake, volcanic sulphur flats, and hike through lava formations. Our guide, Amann, was wonderful, with lots of information sprinkled with humor.

4.00A beautiful tour with knowledgeable tour guide. You get to see several different landscapes including snow capped mountains to bubbling mud pools. The waterfall was beautiful and there was enough time to take pictures. The geothermal pool/lagoon was a wonderful end of the tour.

4.00Our ship was late coming into port so our tour was a bit rushed. It was a very fast paced tour and the ships delay made it even more so. We decided to skip the visit to the hot springs as there was not really enough time to enjoy it. So we opted for the tectonic plates and cave instead which was really something spectacular to see.

4.00Norbert was very informative and a great guide. The day was miserable with rain and high wind so time at each sight was limited by that. The driving time between sights was sometimes 45-60 minutes and that would have been helpful to know before booking. Most importantly, the original excursion was booked to be from Húsavík but the cruise ship was not able to dock there due to high wind and seas so we diverted over to Akureyri and Imagine Travel switched everything over to the new port seamlessly. That was a big thing for us and we were very grateful that they made it so easy for us.

5.00A great trip in which we saw the different landscapes of Iceland. We had a very knowledgeable Guide with a lot of sense of humor and we could ask him anything. We went in a small bus, so everyone could get on and off quickly. Because we came from a cruise ship and therefore had to be back on time, the program was taken into account, without having to miss anything. In short, a very successful and informative trip!
