We had a very good tour and Mangalore is an extremely vibrant , colourful and clean city to visit. Our tour guide Shruthi was an absolute gem - friendly, charming and personable . Not only did she share the insights and explanations on the shrines and the church we visited but it was nice to go to the fresh market market together and shop for spices . We all had a very delicious lunch together and discussed recipes on how to make the local curry paste . Seafood is THE thing in this city so please enjoy the fresh fish on offer . The only part of the tour we were less impressed with was the visit to the artisan village ( more a kids discovery experience) - it replaced the cashew factory visit ( factory closed) . Would have been good to have a conversation about this change as it was far out and we would probably have preferred to visit more shrines instead or alternatively visit the botanical garden and museum ( in same area) . So suggest for future clients that you check their interest if cashew factory is closed as the tour is quite expensive and it’s good to know what you will get . Overall though we were very happy to spend time in Mangalore with a local and the nice driver with a comfortable car to take us from A to B

We spent a day seeing the highlights of Mangalore. Sudeep was a wonderful guide for our journey. We packed a lot into 8 hours and got a good overview of Mangalore and its history. We stopped at three places to sample traditional Mangalore food. The Artisans Village was a nice way to get an understanding of Indian life several decades ago and life in the villages today.

Overall we enjoyed the excursion. However there were a few disappointing aspects. We had exchanged messages beforehand with the manager of the excursion provider including a late request for a change to the programme. However there was no response to that and the request had not been passed on to our guide. The guide was a very nice young student doing the job part time as he prepared for his exams. He was reasonably knowledgeable but not at the level of all the other guides we had during our shore excursions. There was no visit to the cashew factory as it was a Sunday BUT we were not informed in advance that this would be the case.

The guide was an amazing, fantastic young educated lady. The places she took us were unexpectedly wonderful. She explained and showed us places that were perfect for the amount of time and walking. We were very lucky to have this guide. Her education was superb, and she understood exactly what we like. We were very impressed with this guide that made the visit to Mangalore the best visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed Nelson. His English was great and his enthusiasm to share his knowledge was great. He made sure we were taking in all of the sites and our day ended with a delicious lunch at his suggested restaurant. Mangalore was an interesting stop.

Mangalore city and the surrounding areas are very clean. The locals are very honest and helpful. There are numerous temples, churches and beaches. Near Hattiyangadi, one can see the ocean on one side of the road and a river on the other side. The 1000 pillar Jain temple is very old and also has statues of Jain Thirthankars in semi precious, precious stones, silver & gold. The Gometeshwar statue at Karkala is 42 feet in height and is also worth visiting

The whole tour is filled with highlights, but the ones that especially stood out were the visit to the cashew nut factory, the St Aloysius Chapel and Kadri Majunantha Temple. The tour guide, Gaywain Lasrado and our driver were fantastic, willing and flexible to show us many more of Mangalore's treasures, e.g. fish market and Tannirubavi Beach.
