What To Expect
Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park
This Tour covers the basic 17-mile loop of Monument Valley and visits some restricted backcountry stops. You will view many of the famous monuments on this tour; in particular you will make stops at The East and West Mittens viewpoint, John Ford’s Point & Three Sisters viewpoint, the Totem Pole viewpoint, Artist’s Point, and the North Window viewpoints. In the back-country you will make stops at The Sun’s Eye & Ear of the Wind; this area of the Navajo Tribal Park includes hidden treasures, such as natural arches, and provides different viewpoints than the 17-mile loop road. This tour offers you the opportunity to visit an authentic Navajo Hogan at a local residence where you will view a rug-weaving demonstration by a member of the local Navajo family.

5.00The tour takes you to areas you can not go on a self guided tour. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and added a lot to the experience. Excellent off road driver and yes that's important to this tour.

2.00To begin with it was hard to find the check in location. The address was was pointing us to another building. When the trip started the speaker was not working so we could not hear anything. The speaker issue was eventually fixed. We weren't given much historical information on the area and some of the facts that we were given were incorrect or inconsistent. We had to literally fact check everything after the tour and do our our research. On top of that it was super dusty so it would have been much better if we explored with our own vehicle.

4.00The sights were beautiful. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The roads traveled were a washboard! Unbelievably bumpy. Hold on! Advertised 15 minute photography stops. Did not happen very often, and even then the wind blew the sand and dust so hard. Don’t go with clean hair or clothes!

5.00This tour was so fun and informative. Our guide Cayden was so knowledgeable and polite. We visited lots of backcountry off road trails and got to go inside a Hogan and listen to Indian Stories and Traditions. We also got to see the weaving and cording of wool rugs inside the Hogan by a very Informative Navajo Woman assisted by get granddaughter. Lots of stops to get just the right photo of all the monuments. Definitely recommend this great tour!!

4.00You go deep into Monument Valley, past the main drive. Navajo guide (Marvin) was good, giving us the names of the rocks, but I would have liked more Navajo history and detail (geologic) about the buttes and mesas we were seeing. Still, worth the money to get the full Monument Valley experience.
