The tour begins base nearby the Mýrdalsjökull glacier in South Iceland. We start by going over the tour plan and safety instructions. From the base we cross some small rivers and head down to the black lava sands fields which derives from the dormant volcano Katla. Down by the black beach we stop and enjoy the amazing view up to the Mýrdalsjökull glacier and along the coast to the southernmost part of Iceland, the small peninsula Dyrhólaey. We then head along the coast to the famous aircraft wreck, from there we continue to the river Jökulsá and up to the foot of the mountain. Upon our return we follow the mountain back to the base. The ATV experience itself lasts approximately 2 hours. You will ride 2 people per ATV, with one driving and one as a passenger. If you are traveling alone, or in an odd-numbered group (3, 5, 7 etc.) there is an additional charge payable locally for single riders. The adventure will provide stunning photo opportunities in good weather, so don't forget to bring your camera! You will be provided with everything you need for a safe and comfortable ride. No ATV experience is required to take part and the skill level for this activity is deemed as 'easy'.

We had an incredible time. Jordy was our guide and he did an incredible job making us all feel safe, but more importantly, confident in our riding abilities! Most of my family (5 of us) have driven ATVs before at family land in the United States, but nothing like this. The nerves went away immediately after we started, and Jordy made sure we all went our own pace, never feeling like we had to speed up or slow down for others. The facts and stories at a few of the stops along the way made the trip even better. It was very informative and the wealth of history in the area left us with great facts to head home with! One of the most breath taking experiences of my life. My family and I are grateful to Jordy and other guides that helped us have an amazing experience!

Rode the E-Bikes on the black sand, amazing scenery and guide Jordy , EBikes were brand new so easy to use, we were the first to use bikes, my 11 year old could just use the bike so any younger I would suggest this is not suitable. Prepare for any weather it is harsh environment in the black sand.

Bjarki was the absolute best guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history and science of the areas that we were seeing. Every place he took us was absolutely stunning and he was so friendly and nice. This tour was one of my favorite things I’ve done in Iceland so far. Will definitely be back!!
