Garden District
Dubbed the “Garden District” for its over the top gardens, this part of New Orleans is noted for breathtaking scenery. Visitors are enthralled by the elegant mansions and picturesque setting that promises a relaxing, memorable experience. Many celebrities live in the Garden District so you’ll never know just who you’ll see out in their yards or walking their dogs. America’s sweetheart Sandra Bullock has a house blocks off St. Charles Avenue. New Orleans native, The Big Lebowski actor John Goodman calls this historic neighborhood home, as well as our very own New Orleans Saint, Drew Brees. Nicolas Cage is seen around as well. We’ll see the homes featured in the novels of Anne Rice and countless films. We’ll take you to see the more famous, or infamous places the residents of the Garden District call home. We’ll tour the oak-lined streets, and you’ll sit feet from some of the most historic mansions in all of America.
Treme
The Treme (pronounced “Treh-MAY”; historically Faubourg Tremé) is the birthplace of Jazz. The Treme is the spiritual home of our city. Congo Square in Armstrong Park anchors this historic neighborhood where the streets have more history than some books. The Treme has been a legendary influence of New Orleans culture. So many significant events have taken places on these back streets of Treme.

Brie was our guide and she was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the city. She is a New Orleans native and gave us information about traps to avoid, as well as historical information and dinner recommendations. She was able to answer questions off the cuff with a great sense of humor and knowledge. The tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Our only regret is not doing it earlier into the trip because she told us all the food spots we never would’ve found on our own.

I took this tour twice once by myself and went with my family. Two different tour guides very different experiences and information. One was more food and modern culture with some history and the other one was more History. But the best was stopping at Café Dumont at City Park. Later tour one of the cemeteries was closed and traffic is thick. Recommend taking the 9 AM tour.

Justin was such a great and funny tour guide! We were picked up and dropped off at the hotel which was super convenient! We went all over the city and it was great to see and hear about the area beyond the basic French quarter side. He showed us great places for the kids and the areas affected by Katrina was so interesting.

Such a fun and informative tour. Chris (CL) was an excellent guide to the city, being a New Orleans native. He was funny and entertaining and an excellent driver, safe and was a professional and knew how to maneuver the crazy tourists and other drivers. We giggled about some of them but he always kept his cool despite the unusually heavy traffic and raindrops. I felt like we got inside information that other guides may not have known. He answered our questions with ease. I loved stopping for beignets and cafe au lait at the cutest local long standing cafe. Thanks again, Chris!

We had Henry as a tour guide and he was phenomenal. He was down to earth, knowledgeable, and clearly loves the city even with its challenges. He knows the best places to visit if you’re short on time. Also, bus was clean and in good repair, A/C works great. Highly recommend!
