Discover Margaret River’s unique nocturnal wildlife on this exclusive night tour. The tour operates in a pocket of original bushland at Yelverton Brook Conservation Sanctuary; here you will discover uber-cute rare animals as they rise for their nightly antics, while gazing at the millions of stars in the sky. A variety of animals may be viewed including kangaroos, possums and bandicoots.
This nocturnal wildlife tour is family friendly. The tour includes a short guided bushwalk before arriving at the animal viewing area, and billy tea.

What To Expect
South West Eco Discoveries
On arrival at the sanctuary a short guided bush walk will take us to the animal viewing site. While you sit down and enjoy some bush billy tea or milo, your guides will provide entertaining stories and factual information about the wildlife and bushtucker native to the Margaret River Region. Watch for the animals as they come out for the night - possums, quendas, and kangaroos.

5.00A truly memorable nocturnal tour that felt like a completely new way of experiencing the bush. Walking into the forest as daylight faded was surreal, and it was fascinating to see nocturnal animals emerge. The bandicoot and possum were especially interesting—being able to observe them up close, and even gently touch the possum’s fur, was an unforgettable highlight. The torch-lit bush walk added an element of adventure while also allowing us to learn about the local flora, fungi, and even spiders along the way. Reaching the open clearing for stargazing was magical. We were incredibly fortunate to witness a meteor streak across the night sky, which made the experience feel truly heavenly. Seeing the Milky Way and learning about the Southern Cross added to the wonder of the evening. The guides were patient, knowledgeable, and generous with their explanations throughout the tour. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and my son especially had a delightful and educational time. Highly recommend!!

Mick and Ryan are fantastic, highly knowledgeable guides who shared great insights throughout the evening. It's a wonderful, unique tour that we highly recommend!

5.00We met with Mick and were the only people on the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and chatty and pointed out many interesting plants including ones used by indigenous people for bush tucker, medicinal and other purposes. We saw and patted adorable kangaroos and watched possums and bandicoots. He showed us some constellations and other interesting things, I won’t give away all the surprises! Mick knows so much about the area and makes an excellent cuppa. This was my favourite tour on our trip and I’ve seen some amazing stuff.

5.00Ryan picked us up from our accommodation and drove us to the property where the tour operates. Absolutely amazing tour. Saw and fed kangaroos, quendas and possums. We were treated to bush tea and a ride home was included. So much fun. I recommend dressing for the weather and bushwalking.

5.00This was a fantastic experience. It was only myself and my two daughters this evening. Ryan knows his stuff and the kids had an absolute blast. It was so lovely to feed the kangaroos and get up (respectfully) close with a couple of possums. Saw loads of frogs and spiders, quendas and heard all the tales of the roos who came up. Highly recommend. My daughter wants to give it a million stars

5.00Can’t recommend this more! The nocturnal animal tour was “20 times better than expected” according to another family on our tour (which we agreed with). The animals like kangaroos, bandicoots and possums came so close. We had an impromptu star gazing tour as well. Mick and Ryan are knowledgeable, fun, and responsive to the kids’ many questions. They serve hot chocolate and cookies, too. Definitely do it.
