Experience Arches National Park the way it was meant to be seen, from the backcountry. While the crowds stick to the paved roads, our unique backcountry access allows us to enter through a remote gateway. Your journey begins with a scenic drive north on HWY 191, leading to an unpaved, rugged route that serves as your entrance to the park. Along the way, you’ll uncover the rich history and fascinating geology of the region, traveling directly over the ancient salt beds responsible for the world's most famous arches and spires
Off-the-Beaten-Path: Highlights of the Backcountry tour May Include: Eye of the Whale, Tower Arch, the Marching Men, Skyline Arch, and Sand Dune Arch
Park Icons: As we proceed out of the park, you will see views of Balanced Rock, the Windows Section, and Park Avenue. Giving you the chance to see areas you may want to come back to and explore on your own.

We advise that if you are, or anyone in your party is, over 6'2" and/or 225+ lbs. to please consult our office prior to your trip's departure date.
The Jeep Wranglers used have four passenger seats, and the guide/driver has all guests rotate seats throughout the trip. This makes it so that one person is not stuck in the same seat for the entire trip.
Not recommended for those with motion sickness, vertigo, etc.
Due to these tours being backcountry tours, you will be going off the paved roads in an elevated vehicle that has the clearance for these special off-road trails.
Things to bring: water bottle (free refills available), sunglasses, sunscreen, visor/hat, sun protection, sturdy footwear for hiking, day pack, camcorders and cameras (bring at your own risk)
Timed entry tickets are NOT needed for this trip.
What To Expect
Arches National Park
Arches National Park lies north of Moab in the state of Utah. Bordered by the Colorado River in the southeast, it’s known as the site of more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, such as the massive, red-hued Delicate Arch in the east. Long, thin Landscape Arch stands in Devils Garden to the north.

5.00We just visited Moab last weekend and took the Arches half day tour. Mark was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the adventure of driving the rough the Arches National Park and learning more about Moab and the geology of the scenery. We would definitely recommend Adrift Adventures and our guide Mark!

5.00Mark was great! He filled us in on the sights, what to see, how to be a good visitor, staying on the trails and was a great commentator. He also walked the walk, stopping occasionally to pick up trash left by others. And most important, he was fun, too. Highly recommended.

5.00We had an excellent Backcountry Jeep/4x4 experience with Bill from Adrift Adventures. The “roads” took expert driving and Bill provided that! We learned a lot about Arches and observed several arches that we wouldn’t have seen sticking to the park road. Then we joined the park road and drove past the arches we viewed on our own today receiving lots of information from Bill. The information from Bill enhanced our enjoyment of our solo trip on the park road sites today.

5.00Awesome tour. Our guide Mark Trunzo was phenomenal. He had extensive knowledge of the trails, how to give a tour and more importantly how to tailor the adventure for our family of four including 13 and 15 year old daughters. Everyone had a great experience and he found a way to connect with each member of the party: from useless facts to break the ice with the girls, to multiple "dad" jokes that got simultaneous groans from teens and laughs from parents. And for those who really want an off road journey, he knows "how to hit all the bumps." It was the perfect balance of entertainment, conservation and education. Well worth the experience, especially for those looking for adventure off the beaten path.

From start to finish, the experience was fun, engaging, and packed with fascinating insights about the park’s geology, history, and hidden gems. Bill was an outstanding guide—knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the area. He made the ride both exciting and comfortable, navigating the rugged terrain with ease while sharing stories and pointing out features we would have completely missed on our own. His enthusiasm really brought the landscape to life. The backcountry access made all the difference. We got to see parts of the park that most visitors never experience, with stunning views, fewer crowds, and plenty of great photo opportunities. The Jeep ride itself was a blast—just the right mix of adventure and scenic exploration. Overall, this tour was the perfect combination of fun and education.
