We had an absolutely incredible experience on the “One Perfect Day in Bogotá” tour with cielo.Travel. There’s no way we would have been able to see and learn as much as we did on our own. Our guide, Camilo, was outstanding. His knowledge of Colombian history brought every place we visited to life, and it made the entire experience so much more meaningful. Listening to his explanations while walking through La Candelaria was truly enriching. We started the day with breathtaking views from Monserrate, which set the tone for everything that followed. Throughout the day, we enjoyed a wonderful coffee tasting and had free time for lunch at one of their partner restaurants — an excellent recommendation, and without a doubt the best ajiaco we’ve had in the city. Another thing we really appreciated is how smooth everything was — all admission fees were included, and we didn’t have to line up to get into any of the sites. That made a big difference and allowed us to make the most of our time. One of the most special parts of this tour was for my daughter. She left with a renewed sense of pride and a deeper connection to her roots and identity in Colombia — something I will always be grateful for. We also loved the museum visits (the Gold Museum and the Botero Museum). Normally, we are the type of people who can spend hours in a museum — reading everything, watching every video, and listening to all the audio guides — and still feel like we haven’t finished. What made this experience so unique was having Camilo guide us through the highlights while explaining the key details. It allowed us to fully appreciate each place without feeling overwhelmed or missing what really matters. This tour is the perfect balance between learning, exploring, and truly experiencing Bogotá. Highly recommend!

I had the best day with Juan Carlos. We packed a lot into the day and he was an amazing guide. He shared lots of interesting stories, while also giving me space and quiet time, which is perfect for me. He was flexible with things I wanted to stop and see, and he kindly took some very nice photos for me. I would absolutely recommend a tour with him!

This solo trip was absolutely amazing day that I will never forget. My guide Sergio did an awesome job at giving history of each location and he went above and beyond as I had an accident at the beginning of my vacation and he helped me throughout the day to complete our adventure. I plan on coming back to do an Amazon excursion with him next year. You definitely want to book with him and you will definitely enjoy your private tour!!

I started the day wandering the cobbled streets of La Candelaria, Bogotá’s historic center. The area is packed with beautifully preserved colonial buildings, colorful facades, and intricate street art that reflects the city’s political and social history. A few blocks away, Plaza de Bolívar is the grand, historic heart of Bogotá. Surrounded by government buildings, the majestic Cathedral, and often filled with pigeons, locals, and street performers, it’s a great spot to sit and soak in the atmosphere. Mount Monserrate, at the top, the panoramic view of Bogotá is absolutely stunning it gives you a real sense of the city’s massive scale and mountainous surroundings. There’s also a beautiful church, small gardens, and market stalls selling local snacks and souvenirs. It’s peaceful and spiritual, with the city sprawling far below. Just be prepared for the thin air — take it slow. The Gold Museum is a world-class showcase of pre-Columbian artifacts, especially from the Muisca, Tairona, and Quimbaya cultures. The detail and symbolism in the gold pieces are incredible. The museum is well-organized with English translations and interactive displays. Don't miss the Muisca raft (Balsa Muisca) and the immersive sound-and-light room at the end it’s both educational and emotionally moving. Next, I visited the Museo Botero, located right in the heart of La Candelaria. This museum is free and features dozens of works by Fernando Botero, Colombia’s most famous artist, known for his playful, voluminous style. His paintings and sculptures are both humorous and profound, offering commentary on Colombian life and society. This day was worth it and I highly recommend this tour as staff was great and reliable.

Good tour. We made the most of every minute! We climbed Monserrate in the morning (clear views, no lines), walked through La Candelaria, an old neighborhood with colonial architecture where you'll find street art and music. In downtown Bogota you can explore the streets where the most representative government buildings are located, old churches full of art, and museums. One museum you definitely should visit is the Gold Museum, unique in the world. Afterwards, we had a delicious "ajiaco" for lunch, several places to choose from, ask your guide. Our guide spoke perfect English, took care of every detail, and managed time so we weren't stressed or rushed. You can adjust the route to your needs and interests; in our case, street art, some history, enjoying a good coffee and a local meal. The transportation service was very comfortable and punctual. Listen, If you only have one day in Bogotá, this tour is for you ! It maximizes your time without worries or rushing. Oh, I recommend bringing a light sweater, perhaps a raincoat, as the weather can be somehow unpredictable. Don't forget to try the "obleas con arequipe".

I value timing, clarity and security. This tour delivered everything. We started at the Botero Museum (quiet rooms), followed La Candelaria with concrete context —Plaza de Bolívar, Teatro Colón and murals — and had ajiaco lunch in La Perseverancia. Afternoon, Gold Museum without crowds and closing in Monserrate at sunset. The guide was punctual, didactic and flexible; it added a specialty coffee stop in San Alberto. Flawless door-to-door transportation with Jorge. Previous WhatsApp communication included agenda, climate and clear recommendations. Round day, no novels, with photos and data that add up.

Exploring Bogotá through this tour gave me a real sense of the city’s heart. Walking the colorful streets of La Candelaria, standing at Plaza de Bolívar, and taking in the views from Monserrate were unforgettable highlights. The Gold Museum and Botero’s works added so much depth, while the guide’s insights into Colombia’s past made every stop meaningful. Ending with a taste of local food tied it all together—a perfect way to discover the city.

The tour in Bogota was a unique experience. We visited Monserrate by cable car and the view from above is breathtaking. We also visited the National Museum, where we saw a collection of art and historical objects. The guide was very knowledgeable and explained the story behind each place. La Candelaria is a historic neighborhood with a lot of life and energy. Recommended for all who visit Bogota!
