Experience authentic Osaka home cooking in a warm, local home. In this private, hands-on cooking class, you’ll learn how to make two of Osaka’s most beloved dishes: authentic Okonomiyaki and Omusoba. For your Okonomiyaki, you can choose either pork or seafood as your main ingredient and cook it yourself. Then you’ll make Omusoba, a delicious dish of yakisoba with pork and vegetables wrapped in a soft, fluffy egg. You’ll also make beautiful Fruit Daifuku, a traditional Japanese sweet made with soft mochi, sweet white bean paste, and fresh fruit. To finish the experience, enjoy a casual matcha tea experience. I’ll demonstrate how to prepare matcha, and then you’ll make your own bowl to enjoy with your handmade sweets. Along the way, you’ll learn Japanese cooking techniques, discover Osaka’s food culture, and enjoy a warm, personalized experience in a local home. I’ll also take photos and videos during the class and send them to you afterward, and you’ll receive all the recipes so you can recreate the dishes at home.
