8:30 AM – 9:30 AM: Start your day with a visit to the Royal Palace, built in 1866. This iconic complex on the western banks of the Tonle Sap and Mekong River showcases exquisite Khmer architecture. Explore the royal compounds divided into four main sections and learn about Cambodia’s monarchy. 9:30 AM – 10:10 AM: Located within the Royal Palace grounds, the Silver Pagoda derives its name from its floor, which features 5,329 silver tiles. Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Visit the former Security Prison 21 (S-21), which serves as a somber reminder of the Khmer Rouge era. This site details the horrific events and stories of prisoners who suffered under the Pol Pot regime.
