Great day tour around Pico with Filipe and Francisco of Terralta Nature Tours, who were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides. Scenic views of crater lakes, tracts of native forest, a great Azorean lunch, a visit to a vineyard, a visit to the volcano museum including an earthquake simulator, and a tasting of liqueurs at the end. Excellent day tour!

Very packed day, we saw a ton. Our guide was great, he was also a guide at the whaling museum we visited.

Absolutely outstanding guide who was passionate about Pico. He took a lot of time to show us so many things on this beautiful island. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if you are lucky enough to get our guide.

A great day despite all the museums (including the volcanoe house) being closed as it was a Monday. However we saw some amazing scenery and visited the whale factory that is a museum now and open!

This is the best tour to truly experience Pico Island! You’ll get to see places that most visitors never reach, including incredible up-close views of the caldeiras and stunning landscapes all around. Filip is an outstanding guide — so knowledgeable about the island’s history, culture, and especially its unique plants. 🌿 His passion really brings Pico to life! Lunch was an amazing experience and such a special part of the day — delicious local food and wine, perfectly planned. 🍷🍽️ Everything ran smoothly from start to finish — we met right at the pier where the ferry arrives, and Filip was there waiting for us promptly. Highly recommend this tour if you want an authentic, unforgettable Pico adventure!

It was a generally good experiance where we learned a lot about Pico island and the rest of the islands. I wish we had a dip in the natrural pools as part of the experiance.

With my husband and our two teenagers, we stayed 3 days on the island. Given this limited time, we opted for a day in jeep with local guides. Well, we were not disappointed! Even though the cave/lava tunnel and the Pico plateau could not be visited (the former due to security reasons and the latter due to capricious weather), our two guides showed us corners/nuggets of the island that are not stormed by tourists. We went through the Unesco-listed vineyards, walked through a Japanese cedar forest, observed beautiful panoramas and learned a lot about the cultivation of Pico, its natural drinking water harvesting system even though there are no springs.... Our guides bent over backwards for us, answering all our questions. Lunch in a typical restaurant was also buffet-style and the Welcoming was charming. In short, I highly recommend this activity!

Our guide was Gabriel. He was fantastic. He did a great job of explaining everything from Island history to the food and drink of the island. I really recommend him. I would hire him as a guide again.
