The Citadella is the fortification located upon the top of Gellért Hill in Budapest, Hungary. Citadella is the Hungarian word for citadel, a kind of fortress. The word is exclusively used by other languages to refer to the Gellért Hill citadel which occupies a place which held strategic importance in Budapest's military history. We also find the Liberation Monument atop the fortress, a dramatic statue that commemorates those who sacrificed their lives for the independence of Hungary. 5.00This G‑Wagon tour was exactly as advertised — fun, informative, and relaxed. We booked it outside of our Viking cruise because some of our group arrived early and others arrived the day of sailing. Our driver was safe, knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with. The tour was easy to follow, very customizable, and even showed us places that the person in our group who had visited Budapest before had never seen. Highly recommend.

5.00I highly recommend this tour! We had so much fun in the open top G Wagon and had a superb guide John. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional and stopped at some fabulous places so we could take photographs. There was also information played in English whilst we were travelling. We also stopped for a delicious treat of local strudel which was fabulous. Thank you Budtours and a huge thank you to John!
