Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve is a wetland located in the coastal district southeast of Ho Chi Minh City. Listed in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves by UNESCO, Can Gio is one of the most important wetland of Vietnam, hosting more than 200 species of fauna and 52 species of flora. There are many activities to do such as visiting Monkey Island, taking a boat tour, and exploring the mangrove forest. We specially customized this experience to fit your desire of a truly eco-tour.

What To Expect
Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve
The tour is expected to last between 7 and 8 hours, with the round trip transfer taking approximately 4 hours. Depart Saigon and head straight to our private dock in Can Gio -Vam Sat. Take a canoe trip along the immense river to go to the bat area. Continue with a small boat trip to discover the characteristic and natural landscape of the mangrove forest before boarding a smaller wooden boat to reach the bat lagoon where a colony of large flying fox bats sleeping the day away. Back to the main boat and head straight to the heart of the forest for a soft trek and the visit the bird sanctuary during the nesting season and stop by the watchtower to observe thousands of birds including storks, herons and cranes flying around. Enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant before a short walk to a natural crocodile lake. While out of the lake, occasionally, you may see wild monkeys jumping out from the deep forest. Head back to Saigon and transfer to hotel.

5.00Nice day trip in Cangio. Everything was great, from the guide, the vehicle & activities. The only regret is that I didn't see many birds, but the boat trip through the mangrove forest and the crocodile viewing were fantastic. So everything is fine. Thanks to the operator.

5.00We had a wonderful time in Can Gio! The scenery was beautiful, and although the weather was a bit hot, everything went smoothly. We joined crocodile fishing and got to see some amazing wildlife — such a fun and unique experience. Maybe the food was a bit too much for us, but it's really delicious, still very hot when served. And our guide was super friendly and enthusiastic.Their energy really lifted the mood and made the whole trip feel light and enjoyable — we didn’t feel tired at all. All in all, a fantastic day trip. Highly recommended!

5.00I booked this Can Gio mangrove tour after a noisy week in Saigon. The drive out took almost 2 hours but honestly, it felt worth it once we got on the boat into the mangroves. The scenery was peaceful – just water, trees, and quiet everywhere. Seeing the bat lagoon was pretty cool, I’ve never seen bats that big just hanging upside down like that in the middle of the day. Then we climbed up the watchtower to see the birds. There weren’t as many as I imagined but standing up there looking out over the endless green forest was really calming. Lunch was local food by the river – nothing fancy but fresh and tasty. After that, we walked over to the crocodile lake and I tried feeding them with a fishing rod. Honestly, seeing crocodiles swimming right below my feet was both scary and exciting. They moved so fast when they snapped at the bait, it gave me chills but I couldn’t stop watching. We also saw a few monkeys on the way back, they were just chilling by the roadside and staring at us. Overall, if you’re tired of city sightseeing and want something totally different near Saigon, I’d recommend this tour. Just be prepared for the long drive, but once you’re out on the water, it feels like a completely different world.

5.00If you want something less touristy than Mekong - definitely go for the Can Gio Mangrove forest tour !! Pick up at 7.30 am from the hotel, back at 4pm. We went through the mangrove forest by speed boat, saw a bat and bird sanctuary, trekked through the jungle, met some monkeys along the way and fed some crocodiles. I’ve been on many tours across Vietnam and this was by far the most enjoyable, less crowded and nice day out. We met the Ginko owners who were lovely people - and our Guide Jun Tran was the nicest man ! Highly recommend this agency
