What To Expect
Vienna
The tour starts with the pick-up at your accommodation in Vienna at a designated time. The driver will introduce you the specifics of the tour after which the tour commences with a drive through the Viennese Forest and first stop Melk Abby.
Melk Abbey
After arriving to Melk, introduce yourself to the history of almost one thousand years old Benedictine Abbey. Overlooking the town of Melk, the impressive baroque-style Abbey is a home of the famous library and a final resting place of Saint Coloman, the patron saint of Austria. During the visit, you can also explore the Abbey church and the garden pavilion. After approximately 1 hour visit of Melk, continue your journey through Austrian countryside ,lakes and mountains to your next destination charming town of Hallstatt.

Unforgettable day trip from Vienna – Melk, Hallstatt & Salzburg

5.00We just got back from this tour and I’m still thinking about it. Booked this as a day trip out of Vienna with our teenage son, and honestly it exceeded every expectation. First stop was Melk Abbey, and wow — nothing prepares you for that high baroque interior. Photos don’t do it justice. We had enough time to properly wander through and take it all in without feeling rushed. Then Hallstatt. I’d seen the pictures everyone posts online and figured it was overhyped. It’s not. Pulling up along the lake with the mountains behind that little village is one of those “pinch me” travel moments. It really does feel like you walked into a fairytale. Salzburg was the perfect way to end the day — walking where Mozart grew up, spotting a few Sound of Music filming spots, and then taking the funicular up to Hohensalzburg Fortress for a late lunch with that view over the whole city. Hard to beat. The whole day ran smoothly, but honestly what made it was our guide, Romano. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and just made the whole experience feel personal instead of like a packed group tour. He answered every question, kept things moving at a good pace, and clearly loved what he does. If you’re staying in Vienna and trying to decide whether this trip is worth a full day, it absolutely is. Three completely different, beautiful places in one day, and a guide who made it even better. Highly recommend.

5.00This was hands down one of the best private tours I’ve ever done! Visiting Hallstatt, Salzburg, and Melk in one day was an incredible experience, and our guide, Darko, made it absolutely unforgettable. Darko was phenomenal—he shared so many interesting and fun facts throughout the day, pointed out things we never would have noticed on our own, and gave us fantastic recommendations at every stop. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the long drive fly by with great conversation and insights about Austria’s history and culture. The itinerary was perfectly planned, the scenery was breathtaking, and every stop was worth it. If you’re considering this tour, do yourself a favor and ask for Darko. He truly made an amazing tour exceptional. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Austria without hesitation!

5.00It was a great day! It was a long day for sure, but worth it. The day is broken up nicely. Our driver, D, was wonderful. He was very friendly and full of fun facts as well as historical facts. He gave us good tips as we stopped in the different cities. We opted for the private tour for 2 and we have no regrets.

5.00Wonderful day. Beautiful cities with lots of charm. Darko was fantastic. Great stories and recommendations. He truly made the day. Day started out rainy and cold and he stopped so we could purchase some jackets as we were not prepared. He had extra umbrellas for us and went out of his way. Great fun day!

5.00If you are not into the tour bus thing, this is the trip for you! This was a great way to have a stress free day trip to visit Salzburg and Halstatt with a knowledgeable guide in a comfortable car. Michael was great. He asked what we would like to see and built the day around that and added some areas we hadn’t thought of. He adjusted the schedule to work around the weather too. He knew the history of the area, took us to beautiful locations both popular and those a bit out of the way. He acted as tour guide, photographer and driver but also gave us time to explore on our own. He also let us decide how long we stayed in each location. We like photography and he showed us some great places for maximizing the view. We had a memorable, perfect day. Definitely worth it! We would highly recommend Michael and this trip. Thank you Michael!
