What To Expect
Thingvellir National Park
First, take you through the Reykjavik greater area in the direction of Thingvellir National Park. This is a fantastic place to learn about the history of Iceland. You will enjoy walking between the American and Eurasian tectonic plates, seeing beautiful waterfalls, as well as the original parliament building, the birthplace of Icelandic government.
Gullfoss Falls
Here you will have the option to take a break, shop for souvenirs, eat and get coffee. Or continue on to Gulfoss (Golden Waterfall). It is one of the area’s most beautiful waterfalls and deep history. If you like rainbows, you are almost sure to see one here.

5.00Great tour of the important stops near Reykjavik. Really enjoyed the day. The Secret Lagoon is must visit. Forget the overcrowded and overpriced Blue and Sky. Tour was great value for the money.

5.00We had a really nice and enjoyable private tour with Andres. We covered all the top natural places to see in the Reykjavík area. Andres provided a good balance between offering history and related stories of each site and free time to explore on our own. There were restrooms available at most stops and a lunch break on our own was scheduled with an interesting story about the owner of the restaurant. We were also blessed with good weather which helped make our day. We highly recommend this tour. Thank you Andres for a lovely day in Iceland.

5.00We chose Andres for this private tour based on the reviews and were not disappointed: he delivered exactly what we had hoped for...We exchanged several messages in advance that allowed him time to work out a route that included everything on our list (except for one, which turned out to be further away than we realised and will have to wait for next time!) He collected us from the cruise terminal where we disembarked and whisked us off, managing to give a running commentary that blended history, politics, geology and general information about life in Iceland, as well as detail specific to the sights we had highlighted. We did not really concentrate in advance on details such as comfort breaks or lunch, but his experience meant that he could meet our every request. He is definitely a character - a kind soul whose patience and good humour made this adventure truly memorable. Our advice would be to ask as many questions as you like in advance, as well as during the tour...and cross your fingers that, like for us, the weather is kind on the day!!! (Although, even if it does rain, snow or hail, we suspect that Andres will just take that in his stride!)

5.00What a great tour. The national park, waterfall, crater, and secret lagoon were amazing. The winter landscape made it that much more magical. Our guide Andres made sure that my wife knew we were celebrating her birthday. We would totally recommend the tour and Andres!

5.00We really enjoyed this private tour. Our guide was friendly and informative. We were picked up directly from our hotel and explored several locations on the golden circle. There were a few surprises like a trip to an organic ice cream shop inside a dairy. You don't want to miss it! The massive waterfall was one of the most awe-inspiring sites I have ever seen and there is a great story to it as well. Ended with a relaxing soak in the secret lagoon...perfect way to end the day. We never felt rushed and had an amazing time.

5.00We just finished our private day tour to the Golden Circle with my husband and teenage daughters and had the best experience. Not only was Andres super knowledgeable about the major attractions (as you would expect), he shared so many other interesting stories about the history of Iceland and took us to a few off the route sites in town that he thought would be of interest to us. He is outgoing, gracious, considerate and super easy to engage with, even with two teens. The little details like where to stand for the optimal video/picture opportunities at the Geyser and better restaurants to eat at the major sites really gave that extra touch and made our trip special. Despite the poor weather for Northern Lights so far, he continues to track for us , from his experience and not just what you google on websites etc to hope that we can catch a glimmer before we take off. Highly recommend and a much better personalized experience than a larger group tour if it makes sense for your group.

5.00Andreas was wonderful! Communication was good. We did the golden circle and hit all the highlights. Andreas was very knowledgeable and was the perfect guide. We went at our own pace and had the best day. Andreas did not rush us and allowed us time to enjoy each place we visited. We came away knowing a great deal about Iceland and the sites we visited. I would hunky recommend Mercury Grail.

5.00This was a private golden Circle tour for our group of 6. Andres our guide from mercury grail Icelandic adventures was outstanding! He customized the tour to our group spending as much or as little time as we eat each stop! Andres was able to share interesting stories about each site and took us to the best spots to capture some amazing photos. He also made some outstanding recommendations for food and restaurants!
