Reykjanes is a striking geological landscape shaped by geothermal energy, tectonic movement, and ongoing volcanic activity. This tour is ideal for those who want to experience the raw and ever-changing nature of Iceland.
Located along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the peninsula sits where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates slowly drift apart, around 2 cm each year. This movement has created a landscape defined by volcanic systems, geothermal fields, and frequent seismic activity.
In recent years, the area around Grindavík has entered a new volcanic phase, with multiple eruptions following intense earthquake activity. While active lava cannot be guaranteed, Reykjanes remains one of the most dynamic places in Iceland to witness these natural forces.

This tour fit our needs, It got us from the cruise port to the airport with a great tour of the area. Our guide was on time, he was pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. We were a group of 8 and a bit cramped in the vehicle. Unfortunately those in the second and third rows of the vehicle couldn’t hear anything the guide was saying. It would have made sense for him to have a microphone. I also feel that they should limit this vehicle to maximum of 7 people.
