Used these guys before, but a guided tour round Central Park which was brilliant. When I found out they had opened a store in SF it made sense to use them again, despite cheaper and more convenient companies near our hotel. We rented E-bikes instead of push bikes this time to cope with the monstrous hills! Can’t fault the company again. Only reason they have a four stars is, when I checked there website they said they were open till 9pm so the plan was to arrive around midday to do Golden Gate Bridge, the presidio and Golden gate park. On arrival though the guy told us they were shutting at 5 as they had gone to winter opening times, but the fee was still the same as what it would have cost till 9pm. I think they need to make sure the site reflects winter opening times as well as on here, because at the time of writing this, it’s still showing 9pm.

The rental guy was very nice and also explained the way to go to Sausalito. The bikes were fine, the tour to Sausalito is perfect because there is a great route for cyclists, through the Golden gate. The only drawback is that the saddle of a bike was not fixed and therefore a bit uncomfortable

Just a terrible experience. We stayed at the Hilton in Union Square. The hotel has a nice offer providing a code to use the bikes each day. I wanted to use them to get around the city and visit some places. First day, went to the bikes with the concierge of the hotel to get help and they would not unlock. Had to take a lyft out of my pocket. Next day, the bike unlocked from a different location at the Parc 55. However, the bike broke down. Had to ride it without bike assistance and walk it about a mile as this company requires you return it to the station you pick it up at. 3rd day, another bike broke down during a ride and one of their reps came out to get it working but then it didn't last long so had to walk it again. Missed out on 2 shows and one appt due to delays with the bike since I couldn't leave it where it happened. Last day, bike would not unlock again. I did complain to customer service. I had to take 6 lyft rides and pay out of my own pocket due to the bikes not working or not unlocking. Not the hotel's fault at all but I told them about the issues. After all of that, this company first said they would reimburse my lyft rides and then said they only deal with uber. How would I know that I told them? Then they offered me the credits the hotel offered me but not even as many. I said you are offering me less than what I was getting at the hotel after all that went wrong. I asked to have a supervisor contact me. Their customer service supervisor never contacted me so I had to post this. It wa a huge waste of time, money, energy. I will Never use them again.

Their E bike was comfy and had a very impressive charge. Additionally, before ever starting, I had to call Customer Service to fix a mistake I made with the booking, and they were very easy to connect with. I ended up spending several hours going as far north as San Quentin & the Larkspur ferry, was able to take this bike on the ferry back to town, then rode as far south as the ballpark and as far west as Lombard Street. After all of this, the bike still had 3 of its 4 battery bars (granted, I turned it off when not using it, and did not use the e-assist for *every* single mile). For all this and more, I would be willing to consider this company the next time I in any town they operate in.

Not the friendliest encounter with the individual who checked us in. He was not at all informative or really helpful in answering questions which is disappointing when you work for a business that serves tourists. While this worker was checking in my friend and having her sign the waiver he had me scan the QR code on the wall because “it be faster for me to have you do that” which made me download an app, create an account, and by no means any faster. We opted for an all-day rental for $5 more than a 4 hr rental. The bikes worked well, helmets fit, we were given locks and told to “take a photo” of the lock combo which would be our only way to know the lock combo. I wish these bikes had a mount for a phone or even provide us with a map of the biking trails. I’ve noticed bikes from other rentals had these options. We had a lovely bike ride, returning the bikes were quick and easy and the workers were more pleasant towards the end of the shift.

We waited 30 minutes in quite a mess (where is the queue?) to get our bikes. Not enough people helping. Plus this app seems to complicate your life rather than ease it. Plus we had one bike not fitting our kid, when asking about it we heard « no, we can’t change, no we can’t adjust » not even a « sorry ». Explanations on the route to follow were bad but given the mood of the guy who was simply exhausted (not his fault) we preferred to hit the road rather than ask further questions

We reserved 2 e-bikes and paid for them ahead of time, with a scheduled pick-up time of 10am. Turns out this is the time the tours head out, so it was very busy and took quite a long time to receive our bikes. It might be useful for clients to be aware of this ahead of time. My husband's bike did not change gears properly and the chain kept falling off, so we had to turn around and go back to the store to change out the bike. We did spend a considerable amount of time trying to fix it ourselves, but it was clearly not functioning properly. When we returned the employee implied that it was just a super easy quick fix, and that it was us that was the problem not the bike. Turns out, he couldn't fix it either! LOL. The replacement bike had back brakes that were in bad shape and my husband was concerned about this, but we did not want to go back again so carried on. Also, they advertise a biking route map on the app, but it is not included with the bike rental, and they want you to pay another $5 on top of the rental, which seems ridiculous. Other companies had mapped routes attached to their bikes. I did overhear staff talking when we first arrived about the limited number of bikes that actually work...he said something like, "most of them are crap", which in our experience may actually be true. I expected better quality for what we paid. Would not rent from here again.

We had booked through Groupon for 5 people. Upon arrival we asked for an upgrade for 3 of our family for an e-bike. It turned out that the extra cost they asked was more than we just had to have rented an e-bike on site. We didn't agree and cancelled our order. We were promised that we could get our purchase back through Groupon for not being used (the codes had already been scanned) but none of it. Still on redeemd after a week although we didn't rent because of the ridiculous extra charge!

We enjoyed the bicycle hire, however we found it deceiving that it states different types of bicycles available, but no where did it stage the electric bikes will be more expensive, and no options on check out to choose. This was quite badly handled.

E-bikes were powerful but very heavy and I found starting and stopping difficult. The push power button did not work on one of the bikes and the as we returned it got a puncture. Despite having insurance my son was told to push over a mile back to the depot. Just as wel he is over 6ft and strong. I could not have done At the depot there was no apology or offer of compensation so we just left no happy.
