I recommend visiting Santiago, and Chile, and South America only if you speak fluent Spanish and/or Brazilian Portuguese; otherwise, stay home and watch a documentary and go to a “Latino” restaurant.

We took the five plus hour walking tour with Julio and had a fantastic day with this charming gentleman, born and raised in the area. This is our second time in Santiago and this time with our daughter. It was a great way to get a feel for the city and the areas of interest. The pace was great for the 60, 59 and 21 yo group. Warm day with stops in shade, water and snacks provided. We learned the transit system and are using it while here. Very easy, clean and quick. Thank you once again for a great day.
