Important: The 17-mile Valley Loop Drive is an unpaved, rugged route. Standard cars should attempt it only in dry conditions, and you proceed at your own risk. Deep sand and ruts make a high-clearance vehicle/SUV strongly recommended. Large RVs and trailers aren’t advised. Many rental contracts forbid unpaved roads.

5.00Make sure to download tour onto your phone PRIOR to entering the park, where cell service may be spotty. App was easy to download and operate on an Iphone during our 17 mile self guided tour. Interesting facts and trivia were provided at each point of interest.
