Small group guided tour (8 people) of the caves and Piran, very well organized, and the time spent at each location was perfect. The driver-guide is very friendly. For the cave, the guided tour is done in groups of 30 people, which is a lot, and there is no right to take photos. In Piran, there are 3 hours of free time, which is perfect for eating and visiting the city. The guide offered us a guided tour that I did not take, so I have no opinion. To have a beautiful view of the city, go up on the ramparts (price 3 euros).

Well, this tour was not as good as the other tours I ve done with “To do in Slovenia”. First of all, it is extremely overpriced for what you get: the entry to the cave it s not included, entry to the Piran walls not included either. Wondering why this is the most expensive tour as it is not that far in comparison with Soka valley one for example which is much cheaper. Second of all, using the tour guide as a driver is completely unsafe. Whilst they drive, they feel obligated to entertain the tourists and they tell stories and laugh etc which is lovely but… 100% they do get distracted and by reflex they ll look back at the people talking to, they ll wave their hands in the air at jokes and so and you can literally see a hands free drive on the motorway which is really scary. Not to mention on the country windy roads. This is very unsafe and quite scary to watch and be in that car.

This tour is a must see. The caves are amazing, amongst the most spectacular anywhere. The time spent in Piran is also worthwhile for seeing the waterfront restaurants. The only drawback is there are several hours of travel involved in this tour

This is a great combination of nature, physical activity and relaxed time at a beautiful seaside town. The caves are truly spectacular. Enormous cavernous areas with rushing water through it. We were lucky that it had rained recently so the river was surging and cascading dramatically. Bit of a hike up steps on the way back but nothing the average person couldn't manage. Then a short drive to Piran. A pretty village with great seafood restaurants and quaint buildings. Great views over to Italy and Croatia. Ness our guide was excellent! She is friendly and helpful and knew exactly what information we all wanted to hear. Highly recommend.

It was a really bad start. I booked the tour online and was not given or asked for a pick up spot. I sent an email to ask and waited all day long and still did not receive a reply, even though they had already taken my money (so I couldn’t cancel). I called, they didn’t answer the phone. By the end of the day, I felt stressed and didn’t know what to do. Called again and finally had someone answer, who gave me a pick up spot and then said they’d send a confirmation email - they didn’t. When the guide arrived 20 minutes late, he was not that pleasant. I was already upset, already felt unattended to and was travelling solo. He was rude when I asked him a question, he spoke down to me. While the caves were beautiful, I could not fully appreciate them as I was separated from my group, and left at the back of a long line of people. The town of Pirhan was pretty but the restaurant recommendations made were for very expensive restaurants. I ended up going off on my own to find food and to walk the town. I would recommend doing these spots on your own or with another company as it really was not worth my money or the added stress I received. I went to enjoy nature but the disappointment I felt really got in the way.

We really enjoyed the tour, the caves were interesting but be warned a lot of steps! Piran was beautiful, the weather was sunny and warm, and the tour guide gave a good history. With plenty of free time for so lunch and a stroll. Recommended.

Amazing tour! Skocjan Caves were incredible - imagine Lord of the Rings meets Game of Thrones! And, Piran was charming - a little bit of Italy in Slovenia! Our guide, Tibor, was friendly, funny and passionate about the history & culture of this beautiful country! Would definitely recommend!!!

We had a wonderful guide, Miha or Mike, who narrated and answered questions on our way to the first stop-the UNESCO cave. While inside the massive cave area, this part of the tour was led by the park service guide. No pictures are allowed inside the cave. It needs to be known before booking, that the cave has approximately 500 steps and concrete walkways consisting of long inclines. We had 4 in our group. As long as this is known ahead of time, this is an awe inspiring place to visit. We were prepared for coldness underground, but it stays at a comfortably cool 12*C. The views of Piran were lovely. As you stand by the Adriatic Sea, you can see Croatia to the left and Italy to the right! We stayed 3 hours,. An hour for lunch and and hour for exploring. There is not much shopping to be done here, except for the Piran Salt shop!!
