Spianada Square
The central square of Spianada is the most significant monument of the town. The name derives from the Venetian word for an "open flat area" and it is said that it is the largest square in the Balkans. Liston which is part of the square houses some of the finest cafes and restaurants in Corfu. The French were the ones who turned the Spianada into a public square. Before the nineteenth century, it used to be a large empty lot used for defensive purposes. Cricket matches are played on the Esplanade, the only place in Greece where the sport is played.
In one of our food stops we will have an olive oil tasting and the local vendor will introduce us to the local spices and the history of olives
Our morning tour would end up at a restaurant where you can enjoy a seated lunch. You will have a chance to taste the famous local pastitsada, Greek salad and ouzo.
After meeting your certified guide the first food stop will start with a Greek brunch that includes spinach pies, cheese pies, greek yoghurt and ginger beer.

Alice gave us an A-MAY-ZING food tour through old town Corfu, including cultural highlghts. Definitely get this tour with Alice- she's brilliant, warm, and a true foodie. Stops included huge platters of breakfast pastries, a meat and fruit platter, Kumquat and liquor tastings, a visit to an exceptional out of the way Michelin-noted spice shop and ended with a delicious family style lunch on an outdoor patio. Wow!! We had the most amazing time, and just loved Alice!

Can’t rate this experience highly enough. Alice was the ultimate host. Friendly, funny, knowledgeable and just a lovely person. She really elevated the experience for all of us. She gave great local historical insights and led us through some beautiful areas starting with the gardens and onto quaint alley ways. We visited some amazing local food spots along the way, and the food at each was delicious and NO ONE left hungry. Being on a cruise ship we only had one day in Corfu and we are so glad we spent it on this tour. Thanks again Alice !

A great mix of culture, history and delicious food from local businesses. Four different stops to taste delicious cold meats, cheeses pastries, sweets, liqueurs and then lunch to top it off. Plenty of food and all business owners were so welcoming of our small group of 6. Our tour leader Nausica was the best and such a knowledgeable and fun person. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Corfu.

We joined this tour at 6 pm (after some slight difficulty locating the exact meeting spot - “by the statue” would have been a useful note in the confirmation email). But our lovely guide, Alice, called us & we were within waving distance. There were 7 people in our group (small numbers - perfect), all really nice easy company which made the evening even better. Before the food part of the tour started, we spent between 20 & 30 minutes stopping at special points of historical interest, where Alice provided real insights from Corfu’s perspective. Then came the main event - Alice took us to 6 different places for all different Corfu specialties - including sweet & dessert foods, charcuterie & cheese, Kumquat & lemon liqueurs (delicious), and culminating in starter & mains at a lovely local family restaurant - including their own wine. All in all, a wonderful evening, with great company, all bonded together by Alice - if you can book a tour with her - do it!!

This was a great food tour with history thrown into the mix. Alice our tour guide was knowledgeable, fun, engaging, making sure everyone in group had a good time. Alice got us involved and we tried lots of different savoury and sweet dishes from local businesses. Finished with a meal at a family run restaurant which was a nice end to the evening. Highly recommend 👍

We really enjoyed our tour with Alice. She was well versed in the history of Corfu and walked us all around the beautiful town. The food was plentiful and excellent. We appreciated trying traditional Greek food, which was quite good. Corfu was clean and absolutely beautiful. The locals were friendly and welcoming. We hope to return some day in the future.
