It was a wonderful snow activity that allowed me to connect closely with nature. I had never been to Takayama before, and joining this tour made me want to explore more of Takayama and try other challenging outdoor activities. My favorite part was walking through the quiet, snow-covered landscape, it felt incredibly peaceful and refreshing, far away from the busy city atmosphere. Even as a beginner, I felt comfortable and well guided throughout the experience. What made this tour truly special was the coffee break in the middle of nature. Enjoying a warm cup of freshly brewed coffee while surrounded by snow and silence was calming and unforgettable. The pace of the tour was relaxed, allowing us to fully enjoy the scenery without feeling rushed or exhausted. The group size was small, which made the experience feel personal and intimate. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, patiently explaining everything and making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. Their warm hospitality added a special touch to the tour. Thank you so much to everyone who arranged this activity. I truly appreciate it and highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Takayama.

A different, off-the-beaten track way to see Takayama and surrounding nature. Off the Grid takes care of all snow gear essentials so we didn’t need to worry about anything. Yama-san was a great tour guide, giving us all the facts about the flora and fauna around Takayama, while Take-san made the best V60 up the mountains. Would highly recommend doing this tour and then indulging in one of the onsens in town after. Best snow experience ever!

What an incredible experience snowshoeing in Takayama, complete with lunch and fresh brewed coffee by a waterfall. The guides were very knowledgeable and shared with us the history of the forests we traveled through, the people who live in the Hida region and their relationship to winter. We will definitely be back for the summer tour in the future!
