Mandurah

As we leave Perth, we pass through the beautiful coastal town of Mandurah, known for its canals, dolphins, and relaxed waterfront lifestyle. Catch a glimpse of the Mandurah Estuary and learn about its unique marine ecosystem as we travel south along the South Western Highway.

Bridgetown

Midday, we stop in one of the South West’s scenic country towns such as Bridgetown, Donnybrook, or Manjimup. These charming towns are known for local produce, historic buildings, and warm hospitality. Enjoy lunch at a local café (own expense) and stretch your legs before heading into the tall tree country.

Diamond Tree

Step into history at the Diamond Tree, once a working karri fire lookout tower. While climbing is no longer permitted, you can view the 50-meter-high wooden cabin and walk the peaceful Jim Fox Forest Trail beneath it. Great for photos and nature lovers.

Walpole-Nornalup National Park

We pass through the majestic Walpole-Nornalup National Park, home to giant tingle and karri trees, pristine rivers, and granite outcrops. Your guide will explain the ecological importance of this ancient forest, which contains some of the world’s largest-girthed trees.

Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk

We stop at the Bluff Knoll car park, located at the base of the highest peak in southern WA (1,099m). Take in views of the Stirling Ranges, known for their wildflower diversity and remote beauty. Lake Grace

Enjoy a drive through the wide, changing landscapes of inland WA as we continue toward Hyden. This leg of the journey reveals the transition from rugged ranges to the open plains and farming lands of the Wheatbelt. Along the way, your guide will share stories of early exploration, farming, and the natural environment. Arrive in Hyden by late afternoon, ready for your visit to Wave Rock the next morning.
