On the plus side. We enjoyed the various foods we tasted. The Guide was friendly. It was a small group of friendly travelers. We spent a lot of time sitting and eating as opposed to wandering around tasting small portions at many vendors as often seems to be the case with food tours. These things tend to vary in format, but we didn’t expect to sit and have a full meal at one of the stops where two of the tastings occurred. There was plenty of food and these were the sort of restaurants we might possibly revisit. The negative side. The guide was late. And we would’ve liked to learn more about the city or the neighborhoods we walked through, but the guide spent very little time actually addressing the group, mostly chatting one on one with the tour participants. We appreciate the history that often comes along with food tours, and it seemed like a missed opportunity.

It was a nice tasting of traditional Swedish food. David provided good background on the food and the sites in Gamla Stan.

A well-organized, interesting and tasty walk through the old town of Stockholm. A great way to get a glimpse of typical Swedish tastes while gaining insight into the culture. Iggy was a fantastic guide - engaging, authentic and a delightful host.

Great food tour. The tastings were varied and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the first taste, a pickled herring open faced sandwich. The second stop was a delicious shrimp salad on toast and our secret tasting. Our guide Iggy was knowledgeable as well as fun.

We frequently start a visit to a large city with a food tour and have been on 15+, including several through the Secret Food Tours group. Unfortunately, our experience in Stockholm fell well short of expectations. First, the guide showed up nearly 10 minutes late. We got there 15 minutes early per instruction, so ended up waiting for 25 minutes without any communication on what was happening. Evidently there was an issue with the train. Ok, no biggie. We got the tour started right away and walked about 10 feet for our first stop, right in the heart of a very touristed area. Food was good, but hardly revealing anything we couldn’t find or hadn’t just watched dozens of tourists eating while we waited for our guide. The rest of the tour was more of the same. The entire tour unearthed no interesting finds, location or dishes that you couldn’t easily discover by just walking along the one main tourist street in old town. There were only five stops (not seven) and no clue what the secret food was. It was never mentioned. The guide herself (Didi) seemed only partially interested in Stockholm and this was clearly a job to earn a little money. We learned all about her past jobs, businesses that she wants to start up and other personal info. We learned very little about the city of Stockholm or the food we were eating. We got to the 5th stop and shortly after bringing out the Fika, the guide announced she was taking off. Time was 1:45, so the tour lasted about 2:05 and no where close to the described three hours. She also didn’t bother to tell us how to get back to the starting point, offer to send a list of places we visited, or the picture she took. Other Secret guides have always done all three. We rated it a 3 stars as we did eat some good food and left full. Although that was mostly in part because the stop at Ardbeg included a full lunch plate for each person. So really, it’s boarder line 2-star.
