I thank Charlie for the wonderful trip: we were able to see dolphins playing and swimming between our kayaks—I would never have imagined seeing them so close. It was amazing, and of course the seals too. I highly recommend it.

Must-do experience in Kaikōura! Group size was kept small (1 guide, 7 participants - 4 kayaks) which made for a personalized and safe experience. Our guide, Logan, was knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting facts about the seals and wildlife. Most importantly, the kayaks were foot pedal operated which freed up our hands for taking photos and videos. While the sunset was obscured by the clouds, we had pods of dolphins swimming with us; which more than made up for it!

Levi was amazing! He was so knowledgeable and really passionate about what he does. It showed. The kyack was terrific fun, and to see dolphins and seals - it was really special. It’s a time that won’t ever be forgotten - especially at sunset. Thanks Levi!! It was our last little adventure before we head back to Australia. You made it so special for us.

A real beautiful discovery. Pedal kayaks are really a pleasant innovation to move quickly and effortlessly but also without noise to be as close as possible to animals without disturbing them. We had the chance to see but especially to follow a family of seals leaving in high water. Our Logan guide was top, friendly with interesting explanations and concerns to make us appreciate the outing. The icing on the cake a semi cloudy weather just perfect for sunset!

We had a fantastic time with Logan and Bailey, who were excellent hosts. The sunset Kayak tour was so good. We saw plenty of seals and then had dusty dolphins swimming with us which was amazing.

Take a drive up from Christchurch to the seaside town of Kaikoura to experience kayaking in the sunset. We took a short ride from the meeting place to the beach and we were immediately warmly greeted by a rainbow. The expert guides lead the way and showed us how to get up close to the resident seals on the rocks to take the close range photos. The guides are knowledgeable and provided educational information on changing environments and water conditions. They even brought up jellyfish, some dead some alive, and we managed to touch jellyfish for the first time. It was relatively easy to operate the kayaks as we got in the kayaks with foot pedals with steering control instead or the ones that work purely by oar peddling. We saw another group along the way that opted for the latter and their faces displayed their exhaustion.
