You will paddle under the Đurđevića Tara Bridge (officially one of the most beautiful in the world). We will make a break at the Ljutica River (the shortest river in Europe) for a quick walk, snack, and photo session.
You will experience thrilling packrafting on the grade 2-3 rapids, swim in the river, and jump from the cliffs.

5.00We were a grown up family of four on the 4 day Tara canyon tour. Magical experience. Incredibly beautiful canyon and this tour gets you away from the crowds you will find on the last section of the river. Really experienced and friendly guides. Brilliantly organised by Gigo.

5.00It was a truly wonderful experience, especially if you enjoy a challenge and don’t mind getting tired. The last day is quite tough, but that’s exactly what makes it a real adventure. Daniel, our guide, was incredible, his passion for what he does is contagious, and he made the whole experience even more enjoyable and inspiring.

5.00What an amazing adventure! Two families. 4 teenagers. Absolutely brilliant! So pleased we came. E-biking for the adrenaline junkies on the first day took in Zjablak and the Dumitor Mountains with both "less and more thrilling" descents the whole way down. The teens loved it! The alternative hike option was a walk through pristine Alpine meadows teeming with insect life and rich in wild flower biodiversity to a glacial lake whose colour reflected the sky. Then on to the Tara River for 3 days, 2 nights. The pristine, crystal clear, blue water can only be believed by being there. The rapids are thrilling enough to get the heart pumping if you want it to, but the caring and excellent guides gave gentler options for the risk averse (me!) too. The accommodation with local people means that this company is investing in eco-tourism and giving money back to the Montenegrins. And the generosity of the hosts with the delicious and home-grown food is humbling. If you are wanting a holiday to treasure, go. Go soon!

5.00Unbelievable scenery with true experts in water-sports, adventure and Montenegro - Manu, Masha and Baki were genuinely 5* in every way. The group has great chemistry and the Tara river more than lived up to expectation - beautiful. The water and surroundings were unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Lastly, the rapids… with the first couple of days to become comfortable on the water and appreciate the canyon, building up to the last day of level 3 rapids, with Manu and Masha with us the group could manage, enjoy and really get that adrenaline rush… appreciating the extra seriousness and safety required on level 3’s … we did get wet! But following the safety rules meant it was great fun and you could really ‘go for it’

5.00This was my second tour with Balkan Expeditions, the first being e-biking which was fantastic, and this time Pack rafting on the Tara river which was equally amazing, stunning scenery and a brilliant team of guys looking after us, the days flew by. The whole experience was superb and I cannot recommend it enough.

5.00Out of this world! 🌎 We did the Tara canyon packrafting trip with Manu, Maŝa and Mirko and it was one of the best trips we've ever done. The guides were incredible, always made you feel safe, cared for and had fun- they really couldnt do enough for you to make it an experience to remember. The scenery is breathtaking and the chance to experience beautiful camp spots and visit the local village was really memorable. Thank you so much for to Gigo and his team for an incredible trip. We just wish we could do it all again!

5.00Pack Rafting the Tara river was an amazing experience! I went with a friend and joined a group of 12 other people for the three days of rafting. Guides Gigo and Manu were amazing- so talented with their skills on the river, and so friendly and motivating. We felt looked after and safe on our journey, even when capsizing through the rapids! The Tara river was breathtaking, a pure escape into the wilderness, and I enjoyed every moment. I can’t thank you enough Gigo, Manu and Nina for the experience!

5.00First time packrafter. In the hands of 2 very experienced and passionate guides, I felt safe and reassured. Logistics was impressive, especially in such a remote location. We had the best of local food. The Tara River is special, so much beauty and power. Felt very privileged to be able to raft this river. An unforgettable experience.

5.00Three days of pack rafting on the Tara river with accommodation and meals included. A group of four people (eldest 58), two of us with no previous experience of kayaking on a river. A truly amazing experience with breathtaking scenery, (It's like Tolkien's Middle Earth). Our guides Mijo and Ivan were very friendly and have superb knowledge of the river. Starting with an explanation of what to expect and how to handle a pack raft (make sure you adjust the seat and knee straps to suit your body size). Often stopping for a quick briefings prior to rapids on the trip downriver. Assume at some point that you're getting wet, but it's not a problem. We were briefed on how to handle the water safely and the guide was quickly to hand. The local food was fantastic and in quantities to suit the hungriest adventurer. Night two the bathroom of the accommodation was a little on the rustic side, but was more than outweighed by the incredible view and the evening meal. Day three features the most exciting rapids (which you can opt out of) but the previous two days will have given you the experience to go for it. This was a wonderful, enjoyable experience and I honestly could have continued down the river when we reached the final stop. Five stars to Mijo and Ivan. Thanks guys.

5.00Went on the 4 day/3 night pack rafting guided tour down the Tara River. There were 4 of us all over 50. We had the best time, day one learning how to control the pack raft, some gentle rapids, getting steadily harder as the days progressed. My friends did really well, I came out a few times, each time the guide calmly gave me easy instructions to follow, got me back in the pack raft and we all carried on. Scary at first but loads of fun. Mio and Ivan our guides were amazing. The accommodation on each day has the best home cooked food and great views. Day 2s accommodation the toilet and shower were a bit below expectations, but the magnificent surroundings made up for it. Highly recommend.
