What To Expect
Senso-ji Temple
Senso-ji Temple is the oldest temple in Tokyo and one of the city’s most iconic cultural landmarks. The area is lively and full of traditional architecture, local snacks, and souvenir shops. Together with us, you can also enjoy learning about traditional temple customs such as omikuji fortune slips and how to purify your hands at the temizuya in a fun and easy way.
Kaminarimon Gate
Kaminarimon Gate is one of the most famous landmarks in Tokyo and the symbolic entrance to Asakusa. It is known for its giant red lantern, which weighs around 700 kilograms, and for the statues of Fujin and Raijin, the gods of wind and thunder, standing on each side. It is more than just a photo spot and offers a memorable first impression of old Tokyo.

5.00I can’t say enough good things about Tomoki and especially my Guide for the day Subaru I had a really great full day Tour with Subaru, we went to tons of places that were perfect for me avoiding a lot of crowds and other things that I was not interested in he took me places of great interests and beauty. One reason was the custom designed itinerary that Tomoki created for me based on our conversations, which ended up making it a great day.. the greatest praise has to be left for Subaru however who was a wonderful Guide a great person and really fun to talk and interact with literally my wish was his command on the tour and it was great. In addition to all this later late at night I had difficulties with my transportation from my hotel to the airport and Subaru’s help navigating the Tokyo Transportation system to make sure I got there on time was incredible. It was way over and above the call of duty. He spent over two hours late in the evening helping me find Transportation to the airport in the incredibly complex Tokyo public transportation system. I cannot thank Subaru enough for that. My highest recommendation for Tomoki Michitabi‘s service and guides is warranted. If you book a tour with them you will not be disappointed.

5.00We stumbled upon Tokyo Private Custom Tour completely by chance while exploring the Senso-ji area, and it turned out to be one of the best spontaneous decisions of our trip. The guides welcomed us warmly and we ended up joining them for a tour of the neighbourhood that far exceeded our expectations. They walked us through the iconic Senso-ji temple with detailed and engaging explanations that gave us a real appreciation for its history and significance — far more than we would have gotten exploring on our own. We also discovered the lively shopping streets nearby, which were great fun to wander through. The real highlight was a hidden gem the guides led us to: a tucked-away street that used to be an underground train station from the post-war era. A fascinating piece of Tokyo’s lesser-known history that we would never have found by ourselves. The whole experience felt personal and unhurried. The guides were friendly, enthusiastic, and genuinely passionate about sharing their knowledge. If you’re in the Senso-ji area and get the chance to join one of their tours — planned or unplanned — don’t hesitate. Highly recommended!

5.00We were approached by two very nice tourguides in Asakusa, Subaru san and Tomoki san. They showed us around telling stories and shared their local knowledge. When the rain started, they helped us find good umbrellas. They were very helpful and funny. Thank you very much for the tour, we would definetly join them again!

5.00We prepared a list of places that we wanted to visit and go to, then Mr. Tagai arranged them for the day tour, he added several more locations so that we could see more of Japan's landmark and beautiful places. We could also ask for the tour to be altered, some places could be added and removed on the spot. Touring with Mr. Tagai feels relaxed and chill, every disired destination was met happily. The price itself is reasonably affordable for a day tour. We could pick however many people that would go on the tour and the price won't change whether it is for a solo tour or family tour. I reccomend this service for those first-timers in Japan, or someone that would need a partner to help travelling a new place in japan.
