My sister and I visited the Tower complex on July 5. We had no idea that the crowd listening to the Beefeater guides would be so large in each area. We instead tried to use the audio guide but neither ours worked well. We used the map and signs to maneuver the complex. We spent several hours there, stopping for scones and tea part way through the day. We really enjoyed the visit even with the heat and crowds. I had visited two decades ago so was familiar with most of the place but the Crown Jewel Exhibit certainly was much more tech advanced.

It is basically self guided. To see/explore each spot would require a good number of steps. Also many up and downs. There are many spots to stop and rest. Not sure why purchasing ticket ahead was necessary and i saw nobody from any specific company but it got us in and we saw the crown jewels. Interesting place.

So much to see and learn. Give yourself at least 3 hours. The beefeater Emma was excellent and shared so much information.

This is a self guided tour. Book for when they open because the lines get long. Go to the Crown Jewels first… FIRST! If not the queue gets really long and you’ll waste time. The rest of the tower grounds can be done at a leisurely pace. There’s a lot to see so walk around. Lastly, the Ravens there are the biggest I’ve ever seen.

Much larger than it seems from the outside. Recommend allowing 3-4 hours to take your time to really see everything. Crown Jewels were stunning and so much history inside.
