This is the most Instagrammable destination in Rovaniemi and something you don’t want to miss. Arctic SnowHotel is one of the largest snow and ice hotels in the world. Inside the hotel, the temperature is always between 0°C and -5°C, so it is comfortable to visit even if it is very cold outside.
The experience begins with the story behind the hotel, explaining how it is rebuilt from snow and ice every year. Our guide introduces the techniques of snow construction, snow and ice art, and explains what happens to the structure when summer arrives.
After the introduction, one of the hotel’s most special features is demonstrated in practice: the snow sauna. You will see how a sauna made of snow functions and experience the effect of water thrown onto the hot stove. Finally, our guide will lead you inside the hotel, where you are free to explore at your own pace, visit the rooms, and admire dozens of snow and ice sculptures.

We enjoyed our time at the Ice hotel. We did the tour and dinner package. The tour begins with a talk about the history of the hotel and how the structures are made each year. This was interesting, but unfortunately, the timing was off as we were only left with about 15 minutes to view the various rooms before dinner. We felt very rushed and were almost running from room to room, peaking in and moving onto the next for fear of being late for the meal. We needed more time to see the hotel. The hotel was stunning though and we loved the carvings. The meal itself was also good. The food was surprisingly good, especially for being prepared in an ice building. The timing of the bus on the way back was also off. The hotel and ice bar closed at 10 pm, but the return bus did not arrive until 11 so we were left waiting for an hour. We did enjoy our time here and if the timing was set better, it would have been a perfect winter activity.

Most of the hotel rooms are beautifully designed. There are also a few rooms without sculptures or large snow artworks. Most of the sculptures show a great deal of attention to detail. I find the entrance fee a bit expensive, but it was definitely worth seeing. Outside the hotel, there was also a small snow hill for sledding.

Nice experience worth the visit, however if the cost of the ticket is acceptable, the shuttle is quite expensive. €22 each way 😣

A must see. Must-see. This ice building is splendid in every respect. Impressive. An ice bar, a majestic restaurant, twenty rooms to visit all more beautiful than the other. And the charm operates at nightfall. Not to be missed. For the restaurant, reservation well in advance. Count 1h/1h30

Amazing and beautiful. The sculptures are impressive and grandiose. We have gone from dream to reality. A nice chapel to marry. On the enchanting side, it is possible to get married by Santa Claus with a reindeer as best man. Guests can enjoy a drink at the bar and eat on site. To finish the meal it is possible to eat its frozen plate. For the fun side, you can make slides with buoys or on the lake.

Wonderful tour where they explain the details of the hotel, the bar and other locations. It is very good to be able to know the rooms to get an idea of how it works. It is also interesting to be able to carry out activities, such as sliding on the ice

Really interesting your and great to explore the hotel. Our kids loved the sledges on to the lake. The ice bar was a great fun experience and the barman so chatty and knowledgeable.

Pure fascination. Great guided tour, by a very nice guide who explains everything in detail how this artwork is built every year. Insight into the hotel rooms, where each represents a different theme, the chapel, the restaurant and the bar. You can't get out of wondering what a work of art this is. After the guided tour you have time to take pictures of the rooms and sculptures, have a drink at the ice bar, or just to look at the surroundings. If anything is really worth it, it's this splendor.

Was a little unsure, if it's going to be worth it, but decided to take the chance and book the tour - no regrets. Transportation in a big and comfortable bus, guided tour and plenty of free time afterwards to enjoy the outside, look around and enjoy some drinks nearby. It's really beautiful inside ☺️ adding some photos but not so much to spoil the beautiful artwork inside 😉

The time for the guide is tight, but she mentioned several times that we will have enough time to check everything out after the tour - and that was right. For us the time was just about right at -29°C. We took the tour, had fun with the sleigh and the kick-sleigh, had a hot chocklate and we did not miss a thing. The transport was in time from and towards.
