You’ll hear fascinating and spooky tales from the first European settlement in 1632 right up to the present day. Discover the many times Portland has fallen and risen anew, and hear about the restless spirits who remain, unable or unwilling to move on.

What To Expect
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Sculpture
At the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Monument, your experience begins in the heart of Portland’s historic district. This scenic landmark, surrounded by 19th century architecture, provides the perfect introduction to Portland’s haunted history and character. Guests will get an overview of the tour, along with a brief mention of Longfellow and how his childhood home is said to be haunted.
The Gould house was once occupied by a doctor with a broken moral compass. Today this historic home is an apartment building. Resident and their pets have experienced some eerie things while going about their day to day lives.

1.00They changed the tour time from 8pm to 7pm and didn’t notify us of the change. Under most circumstances not a huge deal but we drove 30min into town for it and had to pay to park for a complete let down

5.00John and Patty were amazing. They were extremely informative and made it such a nice experience. I learned so much about the area (I came for a business trip) and had a bit of spooky fun. They were wonderful story tellers. Definitely don’t want to miss this one.

5.00Such an interesting and informative tour! Almost like a “normal” walking tour, but with a twist. Not too scary, but definitely saw when some people could be a bit scared. Would definitely recommend this if you’re looking to learn more about Portland history with more spookiness! Wear comfortable shoes too! It’s about 1.5 miles. Easy to find the meeting point.
