  • Studio tickets were not available despite prior confirmation!

Buyer beware! We purchased the Warner Bros studio tour and hop on hop off bus combo ticket and were told three days before our paid and confirmed tour that they did not have Warner Bros Studio Tour tickets available for our date. By the time we were notified, all WB tickets for the days we were in town were sold out. We never would have booked this tour if we had known!

  • Horrible!!!! Don’t do it!

HORRIBLE ! TO DAY THE LEAST No AC, they do not engage with you. They give you headphones to listen to someone tell you about the tour. Most of the outlets for the headphone don’t work. The seats are extremely dirty as if they don’t clean them at all. The drivers are rude, have horrible customer service considering they are dealing with the public. I have been on many LA tours and this has been the worst one. They need to reevaluate their business approach or just shut down. It was my guy first time in LA and this tour kinda ruined the trip. We toured from 1:30pm-6:00 pm in heat and silence! We tried to make the best of it amongst each other but it definitely took a toll on us.

  • Dismal Customer Service!

We arrived early and after asking everywhere where to take the bus for the Warner tour we were told to wait in the shade over the wall of Stop 1 at Dolby Theatre. At departure time we approached and found out that the bus had already left without us. Just in case, we were 15 members of a large family, including older adults, children and even a person on crutches. Impossible not to see us!!! A disaster because on top of keeping us waiting 1/2 hour the supervisor did not give us any solution. The drivers of the red and violet yellow lines were very friendly and pylons, the supervisor on duty over Dolby Street did not rise to the situation. A real shame to end our last day in LA like this

  • Don’t do this combo tour!

This was sold as a combo but it wasn’t clear that the bus did Not go to WB studios and we had to have our own transportation! That took so long that we really didn’t have time for the bus. And when we went to the closest stop after the WB tours, the bus never showed so we gave up and took an Uber back to the hotel. Very disappointed!

  • If you hop on DO NOT hop off or you'll be stranded; terrible customer service

This tour might be okay if you hop on and don't hop off, but don't use it as a place to keep stopping and getting back on. We bought a 2-day pass. The bus was 15 minutes late at the first stop (we thought we'd missed it... they sent a code with our email confirmation to log into the app but the code didn't actually work so that was unhelpful) and then drove really quickly as if trying to get back on schedule, so we were past certain sights when the recording was telling us about them. We got off downtown, saw a few things for about 45 minutes, and went back to where the bus had dropped us off. We were there at 1 for a 1:10 bus. We waited until 1:30 and it never came. My husband called the company and the woman he spoke to apologized and immediately said she'd give us our money back. We thought that was pretty responsible and were pleasantly surprised by the customer service. She cancelled our ticket and said the refund would show up on our bill soon as soon as management approved it. Two days later we get an email from the company saying they reviewed our complaint and the bus HAD been there at 1:10 (we were standing right there! There was no bus) and they weren't giving us our money back. My husband called them and explained they cancelled our ticket on the spot so how could they charge us for something we weren't able to use? And said if they weren't going to refund us they should have said something at the time. The woman (same one who had spoken to him earlier) said she had never cancelled our ticket (she had... he had to put her on speaker to read out the code from his email for her to cancel the ticket so I heard her confirm it, and tell us the ticket would no longer work) and she said he was out of line, and refused to even listen to him. It cost us $220 for a fast 15-minute bus ride and an hour of inconvenience to us; not to mention we were stranded downtown after they cancelled the ticket and had to take a $30 Uber ride back to our hotel (where the Uber driver told us he'd heard a LOT of complaints about this company). Avoid this tour at all costs—apparently there are much better hop-on, hop-off tours in town.

This is NOT a big bus tour. You need to get to the office to redeem voucher before using the buses. Pointless for us as we were the other side of L.A. The office did give us the use of buses next day. The Warner tour was well worth a visit , though you really need a car to get there !!

Let me start by saying how wonderful the Star Line Team is, from purchasing the tickets to each & every bus driver. Their energy & positive attitudes really made our day! Very clean buses. I would recommend starting in the morning - we started at noon & could not fit in all stops, not that you have to get off at each one - you don’t; just those that interest you which I loved. I also recommend doing this on a cool day as the buses are not air conditioned - unfortunately for us CA had an unexpected heat wave with temps reaching 97 degree desert heat. Open windows were not enough & the hot sun beating on our heads on the upper open deck made for a sticky sunburn day. Again, it was unusually hot for normal CA weather. The ear plugs were comfortable & the narration totally amazing & filled with tons of fun facts! Narration could be heard in several different languages at the press of a button. Be aware that the Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive drop off /pick up location is a 10 minute walk from the area of interest - not Star Lines fault - Beverly Hills doesn’t allow tour buses on Rodeo Drive. The Farmers Market & Mall stop was a great spot to shop high end stores & grab a cold drink or delicious meal. The brochure with bus schedule very accurate. All in all a great day! Thank you Star Line for the convenience of easy sightseeing!

Warner Brothers Studios Tour. In the main building where you arrive there is/are a drinks counter/Starbucks, toilets and a merchandise shop. We got there early, but were still able to get started straight away. So it wasn't as limited in time as stated on the map. We were also able to change the type of tour at the checkout. I guess they don't differ much either. There are 23 different topics. The driver will probably just tell you something different and from the outside studio buildings you will simply see another house from the inside. You are carted around the outdoor studio area in an open car that can hold around 12 people, stopping at a few houses where you can take a quick look and also passing through an indoor studio (stage) where no filming is currently taking place. Depending on the tour, the driver then tells relevant stories, incidents and background knowledge. Ours was very relaxed, but still experienced and it was really interesting to see everything. Unfortunately you are only allowed to create very short video sequences, otherwise I would have liked to have simply filmed the entire tour. And taking photos from the car or in a group is always difficult because there is always something/someone in the way. There are various exterior structures from the 1950s, modern office building mock-ups, schools, parking lots, a park, a Mexican market square, smaller town centers with a church,... and the driver then explains everything that has already been filmed here: The Big Bang Theory, Gilmore Girls, Gremlins, Casablanca, Friends, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Batman, Spiderman, Matrix, The Girl with a Pearl Earring, La La Land, Bugs Bunny, Lethal Weapon,… Then there is a small jungle area with a bamboo forest and an (empty) pond that has been used for tons of films: Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park and J.A.G. On behalf of honor. Depending on which background is desired, the entire outdoor area is simply hidden using a green or blue screen and something else is displayed. So it can be a lake, a raging sea or just a pond. A house that we were allowed into looked pretty shabby from the outside and inside. Worn floor, peeling paint. There is no ceiling, because the camera team sits upstairs with all the technology, huge lights, microphones, exhaust pipes,... The whole thing is then painted out for recordings, set up accordingly and retouched later anyway. Taken from a distance, everything looks much neater or even real, e.g. depth posters that suggest that there is a hallway or a pool that is actually just 30 cm deep... On the site with the indoor studios (stages) there are huge, soundproofed halls (all painted light brown). There are numbers on the outside and what is being filmed there. If a red lamp lights up at the entrance, it means that something is being turned there and entry is then prohibited. He then let us into one of these studios, but there was a complete ban on photography and filming. It was a huge hall covered with thick, black soundproofing mats. Different rooms are recreated inside, a kitchen, a living room, a garden with a swimming pool. After about an hour you are then dropped off at a building that houses a café (with toilets) and two museums (as a tour). They are sorted according to different subject areas: Friends, Big Bang, Batman, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Matrix,... Here you are shown the corresponding costumes and props, sets are recreated and it is partly explained how some of these shots and tricks work. Or what the process of a film is like, from casting to reading the script, turning the script into a sequence comic and then the actual shooting. How the film material then has to be changed and pimped up in color so that it looks like the real thing (everyone knows from photos, where the lawn just doesn't look as nice and green as it does in real life) or is colored to have a retro effect or more sunshine or cold winter. And you also learn how old films are restored, how sound recordings are dubbed and synchronized. So the look behind the scenes at how a film is made was amazing. It changed the understanding of films even more, what a Sisyphean task there is. And you could try out a lot of the work yourself, for example dubbing a scene. Or take pictures in front of a green screen. Sit on a Batmobile (motorcycle), pretend to ride it or play Quidditch while riding a broom (Harry Potter) and the background image is shown in the end sequence. You can easily spend another hour there. Once you've seen everything (at your own pace), there are buses waiting outside that will take you back to the main building at the back. For the Friends fans, the driver stopped at the park with the typical orange sofa and you could take photos there. In the main building there is also a museum for a tour, with famous film themes, costumes and setups. And behind that is the entrance hall with Starbucks, shop and restrooms.
