I hosted a group of clients for an intimate pasta making class. What a fun experience to gather and learn a new cooking skill. We made the pasta and ate together and it was a blast. The chefs were so kind and helped us every step of the way.

Great start in the Farmer’s Market - almond croissant and amazing empanadas. Second stop at Canter’s deli was also great. But after that, long walk to a basic Thai restaurant for papaya salad that was totally undifferentiated from any Thai restaurant, followed by mid gelato at the place next door. Disappointing second half of tour. Large portions and nice guide.

What an amazing tour! Our guide, Matt, was excellent! My friend and I learned so much, all while enjoying a variety of yummy food. I would give it 10 stars if I could! I highly recommend this tour.

We met our tour guide, Matt, at the Original Farmers Market. From there, we enjoyed our walk, listening to Matt tell us interesting parts of LA’s cultural history, while stopping for samplings at 5 food locations we never would have found on our own. This tour was well worth it.

I’ve been on dozens of foodie tours and many cooking events so my expectations today were high. 4 of the 5 places were drab; enjoyed the food in only 2 places. Tour guide Matt was very nice and helpful.

Matt was brilliant. Despite the heat and everyone else cancelling he still stuck with us! It was really informative. Loved finding out the history of the place. The food choices were excellent too. It was a perfect intro to the area which we were staying in and we tried foods we probably wouldn’t have found on our own - especially the legendary Canters deli.

Our guide, Jess, was lovely and knowledgeable about the area, but we didn’t feel like it was so much of a food tour as much as a “lot of walking with not a lot of pay off tour.” More of a history tour than a food tour. We heard a bit about the area but the restaurants that were selected were somewhat random (except for Canter’s). We had hoped to see a little bit more in the farmers market where it seems like there were some “institutions” and the Thai place we went to was underwhelming with a sample of papaya salad. It was a nice day for walking which helped.
