Great food, great guide, and an excellent experience! It was great going earlier in the day as it wasn’t so hot in the low season.

The experience was delish, filling, and very enjoyable. I enjoy walking food tours because of the opportunity to learn about a culture and town and local customs that you wouldn’t otherwise! Plus you get the inside on where locals dine, which are almost always the best spots, in areas of town you may not necessary venture to. Our tour guide Joanna was lovely. I traveled w my spouse and two teens- 13, and 16, and all enjoyed the tour and foods. Thank you!

The food was very good, with a variety of flavors. All the vendors we visited were welcoming. My husband has trouble keeping up on long walks. While if you do have difficulty walking there might be a better choice for you, Al set a pace slow enough that my husband could keep up. There are a lot of uneven surfaces and at the end stairs to climb so do keep that in mind. Go hungry. I’ve lost count, but we made 8 or 9 stops. All were really good. Al had a lot of insight into the different stops and the people that run them. It was very informative.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Food Tour with Al – A Must-Do in Puerto Vallarta! My husband and I had an incredible experience on the Downtown Vallarta Food Tour, and our guide, Al, made it even better. From the moment we met him, his energy, knowledge, and passion for Puerto Vallarta were evident. The tour took us through several local spots that we never would have found on our own. We sampled an amazing variety of authentic Mexican foods—from fresh ceviche and tacos al pastor sliced straight from the trompo, to delicious birria, local sweets, and tequila tastings. Every stop offered something unique, and we left completely full by the end! What we loved most was that Al didn’t just introduce us to great food—he also shared local history, culture, and stories about Puerto Vallarta, making the experience much more meaningful. The pace was relaxed, the group size was perfect, and there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions. If you’re visiting Puerto Vallarta and want to experience the city through its food, this tour is absolutely worth it. Come hungry and ask for Al if you can—you won’t be disappointed! Highly recommended!

Sylvia was so enthusiastic and fun. She shared so much of her culture with us. The food was delicious, and her salsa and food pairings were spot on. It was such a lovely way to spend a few hours. We have been on many food tours, and this one ranks at the top for sure.

It was a great experience overall; however, more historical context about the town, during the walks, would have made it even better

My wife and I attended the tour on Tuesday June 9th. Joanna was our tour guide and she was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about the city’s history sharing interesting insights and took our group to several delicious restaurants. We really enjoyed the birria, fish tacos, and aguas frescas tasting. We recommend this tour to anyone who loves trying local authentic food as you won’t be disappointed. We’d book this tour again and can’t thank Joanna enough for the great experience.

Our tour guide Maho was excellent. As it turned out my wife and I were the only people in the group so we got all of his attention. He was very informative and we learned a lot about the history of Puerto Vallarta as well as the restaurants we visited. The food was all excellent but the portions were smal. I was hoping we would get more to eat and drink. All in all the tour was great and I would recommend it.
