All transportation on this tour is by car; no public buses or trains are used.

This tour is designed for travelers who prefer a relaxed pace with frequent breaks, as well as active couples, families, and solo travelers who would like to explore Yokohama as if traveling with a local Japanese friend.
I have lived in Yokohama for over 30 years and enjoy meeting and communicating in English with people who want to explore and understand Japan.

About meeting point: When you come from Tokyo by a train, let’s meet in front of "Colette Mare" near Sakuragicho Station OR at the Osanbashi Pier taxi stand. Please choose one of meeting points in advance. If you stay at a hotel around Minatomirai and Yamashita area, we pick you up in front of the hotel. Please select 3 to 4 options from the itinerary, and we’ll decide the order on the day based on the weather.

5.00We had a wonderful tour with Maria and her husband who was the driver. She is kind and knowledgeable and made our first day very memorable! The highlight video was unexpected and a fun surprise! It felt like we met our long lost cousins! Maria was responsive in her communication before the tour and after and her English was superb.

5.00Maria’s private and customizable tour was exactly what we were looking for. We spent the day exploring Yokohama at a leisurely pace, visiting cozy cafés and taking breaks on park benches while enjoying the atmosphere. Traveling by car made the experience especially comfortable and convenient. Maria is clearly an experienced guide, and her hospitality was exceptional. What made the experience truly special were the hidden stories and local insights she shared with us. We learned so much about Yokohama that we would never have discovered on our own, and it made the tour both fun and memorable.

5.00Maria was an amazing tour guide. She introduced herself by email before we got to Japan and we were able to let her know what we needed and wanted from the tour. She was very accommodating and helpful. She was delightful in person and very knowledgeable. I had been to Yokohama before but she added a lot of information and background that I didn’t know. 5.00Thanks so much for today, Maria! I had an amazing time with you. I’ve been dealing with some back pain, so going with a private, customizable tour was definitely the right call. I could just relax and enjoy everything at my own pace. We went to Iseyama Shrine, the Cup Noodles Museum, Osanbashi Pier, and Chinatown—it honestly felt like hanging out with a local friend with no time pressure at all. Thanks again, I really loved it!
