We were so glad we had booked the small group tour with Visit Meteora, and that we had chosen to stay for two nights, to get a sense of the community as well as the grandeur of the monasteries. Our sunset tour guide was Dimitris. He had our minibus group clapping and cheering. Our half-day, three monastery guide was Vassilis, and he was full of information and very friendly. Both guides worked with individual passengers to drop them where they wanted to go - back to their hotel, to a tavern, a restaurant, the town centre etc. Everything was small enough to be personal but large enough to feel like a community of travellers exploring, and to connect across cultures. Warmly recommended!

Very good. However, we will need to design a way for people to line up and not cut in as soon as they arrive. Some arrive late and desperately want to be at the front.

Amazing tour! We had the 3 day tour (2 nights tour) with the sunset tour on the 1st day and the half day minivan tour on the 2nd day. Comfortable transport to Meteora and on the trips themselves. Guides are amazing and take time to explain. Plenty of photostops with guides offering to take our photo. Different monasteries visited on the 2 tours, with each monastery offering something a bit different. On the last day it was rainy and cloudy but we haf booked a Private Food and Wine tasting tour which was worked out perfectly. It was just amazing- plenty of food, great wine and good laughs with our guide Jim. Would definotely recommend spending at least 1 night in Meteora to make the most out of the trip.

Wonderful trip and wonderful people. Meteora is truly a one of a kind locale and the guides really help give you the context you need while being so hospitable. Organized and efficient. The Grand Meteora Hotel, where we were lodged, could not have been more welcoming.

This was the three day tour from Athens to Meteora including Delphi on the way back. Pick up from Athens worked well, large coach which stopped in lovely seaside town for a break on the way to Meteora. Hotel in Meteora (budget) was fine with great breakfast. Sunset tour guide was just four in a minibus. The guide was great and very informative. The following day we did a hike, again just 4 of us, which was great fun and the guide Chris was fantastic, we learned a lot about nature as well as the history of the monasteries. The following day four of us went in a minibus to Delphi, stopping at Thermopylae on the way. Delphi is in a beautiful area and is very interesting. The tour included a public bus ticket back to Athens and all worked like clockwork with this too. The tour was very worthwhile to see a different part of Greece and two world heritage sites and doing it this way, as it was so well organised, made it very pleasurable and worry free.

This was the highlight of our trip to Greece. I found the communication to be excellent with a detailed itinerary sent a couple of weeks from the tour, along with some optional activity ideas. The one point I'd make is the tour bus in Athens departed across the road from the area indicated in the instructions. I'm not sure if this is usual but other bus drivers were directing people across the road and the bus was obviously for our company so it wasn't too hard to find. The accommodation that they arranged for us was absolutely beautiful, with stunning views of the monoliths, a comfortable bed and close to both the town and a walking trail. We did the sunset tour on the first afternoon and the hiking tour the next morning, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The hiking tour was not overly difficult. In the afternoon we booked the sunset hermit caves hiking tour which was a bit more physical but a real highlight for us. On the third morning we hiked to Holy Trinity Monastery from the path near our accommodation and then went to the Natural History Museum with its interesting mushroom display. I could have easily done an extra day for via ferrata and/or mountain biking. All in all, it was well worth the visit.

The hotel was OK- a little dated, but really amazing views. It was a climb out of the village so if you're on foot like we were it could get a little old walking back and forth to town. The one thing I really did not like was the shower - it was one of those that basically is a tub with an inadequate glass panel that lets water get all over the floor. Honestly if I'd known about the "shower" I wouldn't have stayed there. This brings up another complaint I have- the company we booked with-Visit Meteora- gave you three options for hotels based on price but you don't get to see the specific hotel so I didn't know anything about the hotel until we rolled up to it. This is a review of the hotel though- all in all it was fine mainly because it was in Meteora and amazing and unique area.

The trip was really well organised and totally met our expectations. The only hiccup was that the bus from Athens was on the opposite side of the road than indicated in the information i.e. on the same side as the Everest Cafe not opposite. It has Visit Meteora and its logo on the side of the bus, so is easy to spot. Also, get there early to get a good seat. On the way back they drop you at the bus station in Delphi that is run by the cafe next door. They store your luggage and tell you where to catch the bus from. We would really recommend this trip.
